granted the overs category is a tough one but looking at Mrs O's 3 acts, she hasn't got a chance of winning. they just look like working mothers. granted they can all sing, but it's more than that. no doubts people will warm to shelly (bubbly etc) but I'll give her a few weeks of singing cheesy ballads and harping on about her daughter before she bombs out

The prison warder one, personally I think she has a real chance of winning.

Putting Shelley through was a stupid decision. The other two are ok though.

If you like a "big voice" she has the best in the competition.

Me too....but then, there have been "overs," who've had great voices in the past and not gone onto win and maybe that says something about the target audience of the show..

Mind you, my dad watches it and he's in his late 70s..

As for Mrs O..well, I'd totally agree, she's clueless, but still has the nerve to make judgments on people's vocal abilities, while admitting to having none herself.

Going by previous series and her choices of songs, the prospects aren't good.

my wifes gran watches it but doesnt vote and therein lies the rub. I'd be very interested to know the demographics of the voting public, because they are the ones who decide who wins. for the most part, the overs don't do well

I vote occasionally, but the last person I remember voting for, was for Joe McElderry..these days I tend to see the whole thing as a total con anyway..

I suspect that there's a lot of text voting going on from the younger generation, otherwise they'd end up having to ask permission to use the landline, well, assuming that parents/guardian's are at home

Even so, I bet there are some pretty pissed off adults in the UK, when the phone bill appears around Xmas time..

I was pretty surprised Shelley got put through in front on the young dark haired woman - the one with the mum who looked just like her

But, really, how many more 1980s Whitney ballads have we got to listen to?
All the girls this year seem to think that they've got to shout a song to prove they have a powerful voice.
I really liked Zoe - she was different & had class & style.

There haven't been an Overs win for 9 years and I can't see it happening this year with Sharon's three, as much as they all have very good voices. I predict at least one of them will be in the bottom 2 this weekend.

Lorna will probably be in the bottom 2. She wasn't even shown until bootcamp and even then they just skipped over her. She has a good voice but I was gobsmacked when she got through. I don't remember so very little coverage for a live show contestant.

as if Sharon has any definitive say as to who goes through. She may have some power of veto if she really hates someone but obviously its the producers who pick who goes through based on the rest of the cast and what stories they want to tell.

Are people still really that deluded to think Sharon picked her category? She picks up the cheques and laughs all the way to the bank.
