Anyone thinking this is the worst line-up on X Factor since it began?

Forgot how awful that year was”

It was terrible. It remains the one series that I didn't like anyone. I didn't even watch all the live shows. I think, had I been the age I am now back then, I would've liked Rhydian but at the time not even he could save me from total disinterest.

I think your wrong, other years there was a hook act, you might not have liked them but you tuned in to see what they did, like Rylan. there's no act like that this year and most will not care who gets voted off.

I do agree that they could do with some more dreadful people other than Shelley to kick off with for the sake of fun. Shelley's dreadful but not fun enough in that respect.

I think they made some bad / odd choices in choosing the final 6 for each category, in the stupid way that they did it.

Acts like Lydia Lucy - ok, not my cup of tea, but I think she could have done well in the live shows in a Cher Lloyd way and she is doing well in America right now.

Alejandro - I'm a bit bias because he's from my home town but he was attractive, got the girls attention and I reckon could sell well (even in a short lived career) so why pick Ryan Mathie, I couldn't understand a word of his final 6 audition and he doesn't have the same potential.

I don't really know any of the boy contestants apart from Luke Friend, and that's only because of his hair. None of them stand out to me.

The one act that got me was Hannah.

I enjoyed watching the groups too. So I think either a girl or group will win this year.

I can't recall a name of any of the contestants but I can recall the name of 3 that didnt get through - paul, joseph and melanie. perhaps that tells its own story...

Usually I'd come into to this topic with a post pretty much saying "We get this topic every year, blah blah" But honestly? Yeah. I think this year is the weakest except maybe season 4, but that was a while ago and I'd have liked to think the show's gotten better since then, especially since it's season 10... You'd think they'd have gone for a better lineup.

Rough Copy ,Tamera and Hannah have excellent vocals ...........but they won't win.

Similarly the overs category can't win.....Screwbo has a great voice but the wrong look and the blonde lady from Dorset is a dated club singer.

Last years was bad, but this is possibly worse.

It could have been so much better if Melanie, Paul and Zoe had of been put through. Replacing those three with Hannah, Luke and Shelley were awful decisions that have really weakened the overall line up.

2007, 2011 and 2012 were bad as well.

I think there are too many similar acts, too many belters and R&B warblers trying to be Whitney..Sharon acts are all the same and surely Shelley is the token joke act. Gary has more warblers, there is no variety. maybe that black guy group might be good, heres hoping

This year's line up is not as good as last year's. Louis Walsh's category is the worst - he put the worst singers through merely because they were good-looking. He should never have let Paul go - but sadly he didn't fit in the ideal image like the ones that got through.

Overall, I can't as yet see any potential winners.

I'm told they were beaten by Strictly AND Downton Abbey on Sunday!

There is simply no talent available for what is a glorified pub karaoke contest, who is the tabloids going to get behind this year ? Wouldn't anyone and instead they will focus on Strictly, even thought this mornings coverage was low key compared to past years final 12 unveilings.

Yet 2011 they let Amelia go first which was probably the worst decision in X factor history

Its not the worst lineup of all. I actually think its one of the best and it really is early days. The big performances come at the live shows not at bootcamp or the auditions. So the best is yet to come and I can see some truly great performances coming up.

I truly think this years "hook" act is Shelly. I really do not rate her singing at all. To be quite blunt shes a cheap version of Hannah. Her dress sense is also quite amusing as is her general attitude. I find her entertaining in the wrong way.

Downton was on after the X Factor though, rather than competing in the same timeslot.

Hardly. Still one of ITV's best rating shows.

I only liked Jade Ellis in last years final 12, and did'nt bother watching after she had gone, where as this year there are at least 5 acts that i like, so for me it is one of the best ever.

Is there a joke/entertainment act this year?

Jedward/Wagner/Chico/Rylan.. there's been one every year until now

Not sure if Shelley counts

They probably are. I am happy with Nicole's three girls, plus Lorna and Miss Dynamix. it's too early to have much idea of who is going to win though.

I'm not a fan of Abi as I would have preferred Reilly but yes Tamera, Hannah, Lorna and Miss Dynamix are deffo my favs along with Rough Copy (they remind me of an R+B male band called Jagged Edge)
