Rough Copy are not at all bad actually. We may get more idea of how it is all going to pan out after the first couple of live shows.

ill be honest i feel louis and gary are the only judges to have made the correct choices. I now wish sharon had not returned she has picked one good singer and destroyed a good category sam bailey is good to be fair but shelley over joseph what the hell. If i was sharon i would have picked zoe joe and sam but instead she picked 2 similar ladys who will last two weeks no variety at all. Hannah Barrett has no personality at all i feel shes very bland it irritates me nicole keeps saying shes a star no shes not final three girls for me would have been melanie abi lydia. Melanie had th strongest singing voice in the girls category and more likability and personality than hannah. Sharon and Nicole have completly ruined this year. I wish gary got girls nicole over 25s and sharon groups. The only thing thats keeping me watching the s*** is gary as a judge. If i was gary i would have put Steph woods chloe o gorman and 2 other girls in a group.

It really is a relief that Melanie has gone, but i guess whe will be back on out screens next year, but for her sake i hope that she is'nt.

Really weird - all my favorites (Andrea, Tom M, Joseph, Paul, Next of Kin) have been knocked out! Who on earth do I vote for now?

But I still think it's a higher standard than last year (aside from the Jahmene, James and Ella threesome). And better than 2011 (aside from the girls category) and WAY better than 2010 (big personalities yes, poor vocals yes).

I thought 2011 was a really strong year - Little Mix, Misha B, Sophie, Janet, Amelia, Kitty, Craig. The Risk and Sami were decent but both wrecked by dire song choices and even Frankie wasn't horrific in an 'indie' way.

Production let the show down badly that year, from the final audition resting on Ceri's humiliation to the antics of Frankie at Boot Camp then the judges sending home an act at the live show stage without the public getting a say. It was a mess and viewers voted with their remotes.

Other than James, Jahmene and Ella last year was pretty awful talent wise. I think this year there are talented acts but we haven't really got to know any of them - except maybe Sam Bailey. And that could be where the live shows fall down. I think Joseph and Melanie should have been put through at the very least, simply because people know and can relate to them.

The worst mistake in the history of x factor was not havi the yodeller in Louis category. He would have been a great joke act. It will be crap this year without one.

Yes I do think it's possibly the worst ever line up, atleast since 2006 anyway.

I think it's a decent top 12. However, I can't seem to find one that shines for me just yet.

All of them besides Kingsland Road are reasonably talented. Shelley has a decent vocal.

But here's where it gets tough - when all of the acts are fairly decent, how do you decide how to vote? Well obviously on likeability and singing style.

For me there are 5 potential winners (6 if Mel were still here) here depending on how things go: Miss Dynamix, Tamara, Hannah, Nicholas, Sam B

Sam B has the straightforward vocal and likability that will make her reach the same stage as Tesco Mary but whether she reaches any further will depend on how she gets treated by the producers - if she gets given a more current set of songs.

Hannah's got a personality - I just don't know how the public will react to it and how she'll preform in the live shows. Evidence so far suggests that the older demographics prefer soul singers like Jahmene, so she could score there. It depends on whether the vocals are on point in the lives.

Now Tamara has the chance too - depending on which path she decides to take. She could either become the Katie W hate figure (which I heavily suspect will be the case, though Shelley being put through makes me think otherwise) or if the vocals are consistent then a potential Alex B.

Nicholas has the Scottish vote and the straightforward, rather ordinary Eoghan Quigg/Leon Jackson type vocal that both demographics love. He could win based off that + if he (like Sam B) proves to the producer's that he can do a lot more and become more a contemporary pop star with his own style.

Miss Dynamix I can see being a potential winner because vocally they're more like Little Mix than the crappy Girlband/Belle Amie/Bad Lashes/Hope and if they recognise that Cece's vocals are outstanding and let her take charge. However, the fact that people are already starting to question whether they connect or not/well known enough is making me nervous for them. I don't think they were doing this with Little Mix.

Actually, there are some really interesting performers and good singers this year, and none of them could fairly be called talentless.

I like that there are no "joke/there for controversy with no chance as a serious act" type acts this year. Even the weakest acts this year are in another league from the "joke/controversy" acts of previous seasons, and all have at least some talent to offer.

So, nope, not the worst season, IMO.

I don't think there are any particularly special acts this year. Even if my 2 favourites had gotten through (Relley and Zoe), I would still have thought the same. I'm pretty sure I won't be watching much of the live shows.

If it's not the worst year, it's damn well one of the worst. Unlike almost every other year, this year there's not one act (from the final 12) that has made me go "wow, they're brilliant". Not one.

Of course, the show is going to hype the final acts like crazy anyway, and try their damnedest to convince us they're fantastic. Gotta get those ratings. Gotta get that Xmas no.1 single.

Sorry, but I set my bar at a particularly level, and the contestants will either reach that level or they won't, regardless of what this increasingly fake show tries to say. My advice? Don't let the X Factor bosses lower your standards with their circus bullshit. They don't give a damn about quality, or you for that matter. Just my 2 cents.

Agree with about the 'wow' factor of this years contestants (or the lack of it). Apart form Rough Copy none of them are stand-out stars. They're just rehashes from previous years. We've seen the likes of Sam, Nicholas and Miss Dynamix several times!!

I'm looking forward to Lorna's performances, she's going to have to stand out so much considering she's had about one second airtime prior.

They haven't grown on me yet but it's certainly no worse than the last two years.

I have not got a fave yet! When the Live shows start, then we see the contenders to win.

I came on to say that

Series 6 was weaker. That year, Jedward was a semifinalist in my mind (behind Joe, Olly, and quirky songs Stacey; I couldn't stand it when Dannii kept giving her ballads).

Have to agree its a bad year. Not the worst though. Brooksteins year was for me.

Don't think it's one of the worst years but I think it is going to be one of the more boring series and really predictable.

Miss Dynamix can either go far or die early, depending on how the producers will spin the pregnant member issue.
