PAYG SIM that does not expire after 30 days
Hi all,
I want a PAYG SIM card for a spare smartphone that I might not need to use but that will be ready to use (including internet) if required. So I want to put credit it on it that will last at least 6 months if not used up. T-mobile told me that for their SIM cards the internet requires a boost (I think £5 per month) that expires after 30 days ie in order for the internet to be ready to use I would have to top up every 30 days. I think it is the same with Three Can anyone please suggest any suitable SIM cards? |

No, Three is different and the cheapest in this case if you're using a back up sim.
Three charge a flat rate of 3p per min, 2p per text and 1p per mb. The credit lasts as long as you want. Like you say in your OP. Sim cards expire on pretty much every network now if you haven't used any credit in six months. So as long as you make a call/text at least once every six months then you're fine

I think it is the same with Three With every 3 topup you get 150Mb of data "free" to use within 30 days - but the credit cash amount itself never expires! AFTER the 30 days data will continue to work just fine but will be charged at the standard 3 PAYG rate (which is only 1p/Mb these daysf!) |

Giffgaff doesn't expire as long as you make one call/text or internet access every 6 months - I have one in my Nexus tablet as an internet backup.

Is this the right page? "For £5 a month" sounds too me like you need to top up each month...

Hi, I've been thinking of switching to 3 PAYG, too. Has anyone had any problems with them -- like, lately? Think they used to have a bad reputation.

But it all depends on your specific area as with any network. |
