Were the Producers/Nicole scared to have 3 black girls as the Top 3 Girls?

Just wonndering, as I know some people are thinking this but won't actually say it. It was quite clear Tamera/Hannah were locks, but Relley seemed to be popular with both Nicole and Mary and she got a lengthy edit too, so her being cut seemed a bit random with no explanation. If she had got through, there'd no doubt be FB comments saying "oh, Nicole's picked all the black girls because she's black herself' blah blah blah etc and so therefore they went with Abi since it looks like the producers didn't want returnees this year (which is ironic because Abi's the weakest singer out of the 3 white girls).

I think Relley was the one dropped because Nicole decided to put Tamera through instead. They were both very similar but I don't think it was played out in that order. Putting the two of them through would've just split the vote and saw them both voted off in the first few weeks.

Well, no. Because Nicole isn't black.

She's of Filipino, Hawaiian and Ukranian descent.

She picked Abi because she knows the public will not like Abi therefore it gives 'her girls' more of an unfair chance.
She was too scared to pick Melanie as she would have blown the competition away.

Relley wasn't good enough for the lives imo. the others have better vocals and give less shaky performances.

she was probably one of the more marketable acts though. not big on Hannah think she's overrated, would have preferred Melanie who was also bland and generic but had a nicer voice and less annoying personality.

I would have picked Reilly over Abi

Possibly, I mean if the Maloney situation proved anything it was that the voters are quite traditional. Black females never tend to do well WHEN they have a certain image - someone mentioned online that Leona and Alexandra did well because they took the pop angle of, say, Whitney while the more urban Misha B never really took off. Of course, Tamara's Rihanna comparisons mean she takes a centre ground between them, Hannah I think will take a soul, maybe like Rebecca Ferguson, route while the "big voice", see Treyc Cohen, will go to Sharon's Lorna.

If you're talking about the girl who was cleaning hotel rooms: yes, there's no real explanation as to why she's not in the top 3, other than that she's not as hot as Tamera. She's a better singer than everyone else in the entire competition except for Hannah and Paul (Tragically)

Was she afraid to have 2 white girls more like? Mary J's input would have pushed Nicole away from picking Melanie cos she was no doubt not feeling her in the same way that she was 'feeling' Hannah and Tamera,

Melanie had a fair chance of winning the show.

Hannah has no chance of winning whatsoever.

I also said this, but I was just in rage because I can't stand Abi Alton.

Technically, Hannah has an infinitely better chance of winning than Melanie.

I very much doubt race ever came up in the minds of the producers/Nicole (who is not black) at any point. She just put through who she genuinely thinks was best for the live shows.

Not Ukranian, Russian.

It says Ukranian/Russian on Wiki, I picked the first to post. Blame Wiki.

Relley should have been in the top 3 without a doubt.

Relley definitely should have been in the top 3... She's incredible!

I really like Relley, I wanted her to go through the most, but understand why Abi was picked as she has a different style- bit quirky, shy, writes her own music etc.

Abi is a cute little mouse who will be eaten alive by the other powerhouse contestants.

My personal preference is to watch someone compete who commands attention and blows the roof off from time to time.

When Abi sings, that is a cue for a bathroom/snack break in my house.

No, why would they be scared to put through 3 black girls? That makes no sense and the suggestion that Nicole is racist is ludicrous.

Relley was wretched in her audition, she deserved to go home, it would have been far more controversial if Relley had gone through over singers who performed better on the day.

I'm sick of this racist argument every time something coincidental happens, in fact its so blatantly inflammatory now that its trolling.

I like Relley. It wouldn't surprise me if Tamera gets kicked out as they seem to wanting to drag up stuff about her

I don't think it's really that much of a factor. The overs in 2005 were all non-white. Brenda, Andy and Maria were all black, and Chico's family are from Morocco.

It was just a thought, as I don't recall a category ever having all black acts. The last time was in 2005 when Sharon picked 3 black overs and a moroccan(?) guy. It's kind of like the elephant in the room, people think it, but they don't say it. I guess it's never been done before, so people are too afraid to try it. This year would've been a good year to make it a first, but highly unlikely.

It should've happened in 2010 though, with Gamu, Rebecca, Keri and Treyc.

Maybe it's just because I'm black I always notice/think about these types of things, even when it's not anything obvious.
