Second hand downloads exist?
... Like 2nd hand CDs you see on amazon marketplace and eBay. It seems no such thing exists. Surely the way ppl sell the CDs and DVDs thru don't want at a cheaper price on amazon or eBay they could sell downloaded albums and films at a cheap price that they don't have use or play anymore. Seems werid a thing don't exist on amazon etc the way physical DVDs and music is sold 2nd hand at a discounted price.

There was a site that offered 2nd hand downloads but I can't remember the name as they ran into legal trouble with the music industry who have always hated the 2nd hand market.

Surely there is no way of proving that you have 'given away' your download so in theory you could re-sell it a number of times.

That's true. One download can be given to millions of people (and still kept by the person "selling" it). There's a lot more complications compared to how it works with physical items.
