BRIAN KIRKWOOD STEPS DOWN AS HOLLYOAKS EP

Brian Kirkwood has stepped down as the executive producer of Hollyoaks it has been announced. The former EastEnders EP told Digital Spy 'how sad it was to leave'.

"I am upset but over these last couple of years, I have worked really hard. I need a break and wish to return to Hollyoaks as a script writer instead. I have entrusted Macy Jade as my stand in."

CHARLIE CLAPHAM 'FREDDIE'S FEELINGS FOR LINDSEY EXPLODE'

Charlie Clapham has revealed to Digital Spy that over the coming weeks, Freddie will express his undying love for Lindsey.

"Freddie is certainly a nervous wreck towards Lindsey these days. He can't bear to see her and Joe kiss each other and finds himself too attached to Sinead to make Lindsey jealous. Of course he loves Sinead but his feelings for Lindsey are stronger. Finally one day we'll see him tell Lindsey that he loves her." Charlie revealed about his character Freddie Roscoe.

"I'm excited to see this play out in terms of Lindsey's reaction. It's so exciting and surprising."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 7pm on E4 for the first look.

Diane is scared when Tony reveals that the cancer may have come back and prepares for the worst. Tony tells her not to worry and that he'll be fine after his operation but knows the risks. Afraid of losing the father of her twins, Diane makes Tony promise to fight the cancer and never give up. Tony promises and holds her hand. Diane quickly wipes away her tears as Finn enters the room. At first Diane is hesitant to tell Finn the truth but Tony tells her that there should be no secrets between them.

Joe feels that him and Lindsey are drifting apart after he sees Lindsey speak to Freddie about her feelings towards Joe. Freddie advises Lindsey to make the right call if necessary and should not jump to conclusions to make a decision. Lindsey nods and hugs Freddie as she wipes her tears away. Joe walks away with the realisation that he may lose his fiancée forever. When he goes into the dining room, Freddie leaves Lindsey and sees him upset. 'What's up?' he asks him but Joe just bites on an apple, ignoring his brother. With Joe giving him the cold shoulder, Freddie grabs his jacket and heads off to see Sinead.

Trevor tells Ste that he won't leave him and his family alone if he doesn't deal the drugs. Ste repeatedly says no and tells him that Doug is his life and he'll lose him if he deals again. Trevor informs Ste that he could make money from this and that Ste is being an idiot for not wanting to buy his kids toys for Christmas. Ste says no and runs out of the Loft and to the deli where he sees Doug attending to a customer.

Doug is suspicious of Ste's actions and asks him if he's been dealing again. Ste tells him the truth but Doug shrugs and says he's lying. Ste tells him again but Doug gets mad and storms out.

When Freddie goes out to see Sinead, he finds her in the park sobbing. Asking her what's wrong she replies with 'Everything.' Freddie knows Trevor is responsible and tells her that he'll sort everything out. Sinead stops him and says it'll make everything worse and she'll lose Katy forever but Freddie runs off.

November will see Freddie Roscoe explode his feelings to Lindsey Butterfield when she announces that she and Joe are moving away for good because of Frankie.

Freddie is disheartened and can't fight the urge any longer. He locks Lindsey into the attic and asks her to choose between him or Joe. Lindsey is confused as she has no idea why Freddie is behaving this way. She asks him and Freddie tells her that he loves her but she can't believe it. He puts her on the spot but what he doesn't realise is that Joe finds out and rushes off to the attic and then enters the attic. Freddie tells Lindsey to choose and says he'll kill Joe if she chooses Freddie. Who will she choose... the clock is ticking and the gun is being triggered...

This episode will be a part of a big explosive week.

TUESDAY 8TH OCTOBER

Fraser finds himself in a difficult situation when Sandy finds out that Clare is his daughter. Shocked and heartbroken, she tells him that they will have to split up as she can't be around who is a 'psycho'. Fraser says no and that Clare is his daughter and he can't choose but Sandy has other plans.

Mercedes accidentally kisses Dodger when a night out goes horribly wrong.

Cindy is terrified at going out again as she feels Browning will attack her again. Lindsey reassures her that everything will be fine but when she sees Mercedes laughing at her, everything collapses and she runs back inside - haunted.

It's the day of Tony's surgery but Diane feels sick when he enters the operating room and faints in the hospital.
