Never been a fan of Melanie's but it was so sad...
Ok, I haven't particularly liked Melanie since the auditions - Relley and Hannah were my favs of the girls. Melanie's voice is really ordinary and generic. But it's saddening to see that for the fourth time she didn't get through with so much pimping, especially considering she's been so much better this year. And I thought her performance of Run was stunning. No she didn't do the Leona runs but it was still fantastic. I was shocked she could leave after delivering such a powerful vocal.
I think I've realised too late that she was actually quite good...poor girl. I'll miss her. She seemed really sweet. ![]() That scene at the end when she left was heartbreaking - I've never cried before for this show but this tugged at my heartstrings...![]() I really wish there was a wildcard with Melanie being brought back now. It would be amazing to have 4 talented girls in the lives. |

I was convinced she was going through to the live shows after the edit they gave her this year and it seems Melanie thought the same : she was on top of the world in interviews she gave just before Judges House.
If, as it appears, they just used her to create a dramatic moment last night and never had the slightest intention of putting her through, it was rather lousy of them. |

I just wanted her in the live shows just to see what would have happened with a whatever will be will be attitude.

Melanie fans have to move on from this now. She didn't have to accept the offer to return nobody forced her into it.

![]() I kinda agree with OP's sentiments to be honest. Wasn't impressed with her the past two years at all really, but this year she was pretty damn good. For the first time I actually think it's a real shame she didn't get put through. |

![]() But anyways, yeah I thought it was sad (I felt bad for several contestants this year ). But the weird thing is I was actually beginning to enjoy following her story and then they just let her go? Which caused me to lose a certain amount of interest in the show itself. I feel like they've missed an opportunity there. They generated interest in a contestant, and then just waste that interest completely. I also believe we would have seen a stand out performance from Melanie on the live shows, so that's a real shame too.

Is there anything more obnoxious on internet forums than those special flowers who decide they have the ability to just end a discussion with an opinionated statement? No really. Genuine question because I can't think of anything.
Yes, it's a shame that Melanie wasn't given the chance to show what she can do in the live shows. I agree she doesn't really have great star quality as such (although I'm not sure many of the other contestants this year do have, imo!). She has a lovely voice but I feel there's something missing somehow. But I did like the performances I heard from her this year and am sure she might have had more to give, had she had the chance. But it wasn't to be. Shame. Still, are there going to be wildcards this year, anyone know? If so, it would be good if Melanie was brought back, I agree. |

I thought it was quite cruel leading her to believe she has a great chance in the lives and giving her a lot of the pimp slots and coverage, then get kicked out like this - that's not nice. Although, after seeing her BC and JH performances, Nicole was right in not selecting her. They shouldn't messed around with her like that - that was actually very unfair

Seriously some of you need to stop slagging off every other contestant bar your own fav - it would make reading some of the comments made a lot less painful to read. A good vocal is quite often a good vocal an should be acknowledged as such, not ploughed into. |

I can totally agree with the selection of Tamera and Hannah but I thought Abi was the weakest of the six singers at Judges House (and I thought she was pretty poor and uninspiring at bootcamp too). I'm sure they'll try and justify it by saying they put her through for her quirkiness and originality but there's not many who would say she was one of the best vocalists in this category.
