I feel sorry for the poor lad. He's only doing what he does for goodness sake! It's not like he's a Maloney or a Clark!

I hope he outlasts Rough Copy The thing is with Sam, everyone knows his vocals aren't the strongest in the competition but he's there to perform and his love for it transmits to me when I watch and I don't feel that with most of them. He's happy on stage and that makes me happy, strange but true I hope he gets given a good song this week and is given good staging too.

Maybe? He toured with D3 and UJ so he must have heard stuff.

Uh oh! If Gary goes easier in his comments this week we will know the show wants rid of Sam now...

I am happy with sams song i just hope he gets a late performing slot for a change because it's unfair how he is always on early.

I thought no one else noticed! He's the only one left that hasn't performed in the last 1/3. Hopefully he gets a good week.

I always pay attention to what time slots they get and so far he has had a raw deal. Knowing the x factor they will probably shove him and abi on first and second just to try and protect hannah and tamera.

I think he'll be on early again to be honest. He's not exactly a favourite of the producers, is he?

I'm happy with his song choice, could have been much worse. But I fear he'll get the "neutral treatment" and find himself in the bottom two. The staging is a tad concerning too but that's just one picture so we'll see.

Does Sam need to get through this week to get on the tour? I would imagine they want him on it so hopefully Abi will get the boot.

Anyone else absolutely dreading this week by the way? I thought (and prayed!) big band week left with Simon. I've got extra beers in to get through it!

I'm not sure to be honest. It's ranged from the top 7 to top 9 so I guess it depends on who they want on the tour. They haven't mentioned it though so I guess it's the top 7 like last year, so one more week.

I've never been more nervous for him to be honest. He's not been the luckiest with the themes this year to say the least! 80's, disco, big band

His running order positions have been worse than I originally thought - 5/12, 6/10, 2/10, 4/9. He's due a late week surely?

I thought it was always the top 8 on the tour though I remember they made an exception for Aiden Grimshaw. I think Sam has a week or two left tops, sadly.

It was top 7 last year as Kye didn't make it. Yeah unfortunately the odds are stacked against him and he knows it. I'm just enjoying it while he's still in.

I just wish he'd had a better time of it on the show! He is such a nice, enthusiastic guy and he really doesn't deserve all the vitriol (from viewers and Gary!)

He is my favourite but I liked Kingsland Road too, there will be nobody to root for soon.

They're already selling tickets so it's probably the top 7, with this week's loser missing out.

Agreed, it's a real shame. He's my favourite too alongside Sam B.

I saw that!

On another note, I wonder how Gazza will react this week, especially that Sam's staging could very well be like Robbie's in Royal Albert Hall or something.

Much more confident after that performance, not sure if that's a good or a bad thing

He takes everything thrown at him so well, Gary always finds a way to annoy me some way or another though - even when he doesn't say anything negative!

Surprised he was on last.

This feels like the first leg of a two-part takedown. He will get an early slot next week, then after forgettable comments...

I liked that performance
Also Abi, Luke & Hannah are all in danger, meaning Sam might just get through this week too

Happy that sam was allowed a late slot with a more confident performance, he should be fine this week.

They could have easily had him gone this week if they so wanted, unless he's polling higher than people think. I agree that could be the case though - let's just hope his fanbase is strong.

At this point I'm expecting him to go every week to be honest but nothing's wrong with a bonus few

That was a great performance. As Gazza said (not this week), he needs to control his voice and project better, but he put on a good performance! Faint praise is deadly, though...

It was a great performance, I didn't think the theme would suit him at all but he really thrown himself into it. I would have said he's a cert for the B2 but considering he was on last and they made a thing about Gary not saying much I'm more 50/50. He really deserves it - he's had so much thrown at him and handles it really well, he seems like a lovely lad as well. Hoping for the best (although preparing for the worst)

I shouldn't get annoyed at Gary really because if anything he's helping Sam stay in longer. More of the same please
