I think this is actually a rather strong final twelve. It's better than last year's, and definitely an improvement from 2011. Tamera, Hannah, Abi, Luke, Miss Dynamics, Rough Copy, Sam B and Lorna are all fantastic. It's just Nicholas, Sam C, Kingsland and Shelly that aren't ideal.

I can't wait until the live shows

I agree with you ...although I would put Luke and Abi as my added dislikes (that is just my preference)...and I agree that this is a strong final 12 and one of the best I've seen in years

The only year its better than is Leon Jacksons year, which was diabolical.

This year has barely any good acts but had the potential to be good at judges houses.

I really like a few contestants even though overall I am disappointed with the lineup.

Onto the positive.

I absolutely love Abi. Think she has a great voice got her album Simple Truths on amazon a few days ago it's brilliant. Will he rooting for her this season.

Rough Copy are really growing on me each time I see them think they could be the dark horse act of the year these guys have a lot of potential I just hope the X Factor audience gets them song choice will be very important.

Another act who I have been impresses with is Luke Friend. Very unique artist with a strong voice and I really respect him for not selling out and saying no to the stylists wanting to change his image.

I don't like Melanie and am not that impressed with it. The boys category is abysmal.

I like rough copy and miss dynamix, abi and tamera and Sam Bailey.

The rest are pretty terrible.

It's actually probably my favourite line up in a while. But I can understand why others don't like it, especially as they pimped and built up so many contestants who built large fanbases, only to send them home before live shows

Ah well I guess the line up will never please everyone.

I think Luke Friend is being greatly underestimated also... I think he could even win.

I think he will be in the final.

It's the worst line up. There are only two people who will go onto have careers after this, provided they get far in the competition - Miss Dynamix and Tamera.

It's definitely a step up from last year..

There's no Rylan Clark, for starters..

Each and everyone of the "contestants," can sing well, but that doesn't mean that the whole thing isn't still an almighty farce..

I think he's entered 2 or 3 years too soon. He isn't quite 'there' yet but could do really well without the mum vote in a couple of years time.

Because it's one dimensional.........no one stands out as being that special and XF selects singers suitable for only ONE genre. There's much more to music than the kinds of singers the show seems to want.

They're boring. There's no one in the line up that you can point to and think "oh I love her / him / them." They're all boring, the boys category has nothing to it at all, Abi is awful and the groups all look and sound so similar to me. They have nothing that separates them from the crowd.

I don't dislike the entire lineup, I think the majority are weak though. And those who aren't aren't that strong and/or have some kind of negative trait that bugs me to the extent that I can't connect with them. None are great, all are average though so none of them have sheer ability to balance any other problems.

Its an odd lineup.

The groups and boys have nothing for me. The three guys (rough copy) could be pretty good, but there is a line between having confidence and swagger and coming across badly (like berks), they have ran so fast at being confident that they haven't even noticed the line. They actually make me cringe a little with embarassment as its too much. The girl group, I like cece's voice but as a trio they seem very typical and generic. The other one, I'm at a loss.

The boys, well I'm neither a 14 year old girl or a grandma so they don't interest me in he slightest. If Paul got through I would have liked him.

The overs, Lorna is decent but I'm not sold yet and I'm not sure if she is the type I would get behind. The other two will be walking overs stereotypes.

The girls are the strongest...

Tamera is decent but not as good as she is hyped up to be and very inconsistent. I also can't warm to her at all which makes it hard to really get behind her. Her negative traits happen to be bugbears of mine that I can't get past, they make me dislike her.

Abi is interesting but I'm not sure whether I would rate her. I'm not sure, we shall see.

Hannah is actually pretty good but she too is difficult to connect with because she is so negative with her "woe is me" attitude and constant crying. I find that a really, really unattractive quality and it actually bugs me, which takes away from her talent.

I'd have preferred Melanie as one of the girls as she has a polished, strong voice and isn't "damaged" by something negative that detracts from her ability.

I'd have preferred Paul as one of the boys as I liked his voice and as a male on XF he had IMO a broader appeal beyond young girls or the "aww" thing.

I think their not being there weakens the final 12. If it wasn't for the desperation and kid pimping I'd have preferred Joeseph as one of the overs or either of the other two women (names slip me a lot at this point).

"Abi is interesting but I'm not sure whether I would rate her. I'm not sure, we shall see."

Agreed, she makes a change from all of those who think that the only way to deliver a song is to belt it out at top volume and to meander all over the place..

There's quite a nice clip of her on Youtube, whether she goes far, or not, I think she has something to say musically, apart from being able to hold a decent tune.

Not something you'd be able to say about many of the others.

Rich.

Hmm I am not happy because I feel a lot of acts are the same, big belters and R&B warblers. I would have liked something different. and unlike some here I enjoy the fun/joke acts.
But I am going to wait and see, as the live shows sort the men from the boys/girls/ women. They all deserve a chance to prove themselves so lets see.what they are made of.
