Might be disappointing if you take a one-dimensional view and only consider the overnight rating, but...

- it's a scripted show with a young audience, that's a recipe for high consolidated & catch up ratings. Many of these shows add close to 100% of their overnight audience through these sources. Live TV is falling behind catchup viewings with young audiences & fanbases.

- it's available on Netflix (in the UK, and other providers globally) right after its MTV broadcast. This opens up an international audience and gives people even less of an incentive to watch at the initial time of broadcast.

- it gets a buzz going on social media and has a large fandom. The most recent episode was trending globally on Twitter I believe.

- it's the only classy show MTV has, in the endless wave of repetitive pop videos and teenage pregnancy documentaries. Scream is the only show providing MTV with credibility do they'd be silly to ditch it.

A misprint surely?

How can Wayward Pines have a bigger audience share with fewer viewers?

Answering my own question, of course they're only counting 18-49 yr olds.

I really dont get this..how are US tv ratings so low? There are over 320 MILLION people there and most of theshows on one of the main broadcast channels The CW only get under one million viewers, how is it possible..looking at the ratings for all the shows above you would be mistaken that these were UK ratings..you cant say that they watch more cable channels because the ratings on these channels bar GOT and the Walking Dead are very poor for such a huge country. Sky 1, Living get some programs over 1 million, the UK has one fifth the population..the main broadcast channels seem really low

Huge number of available channels dilutes the potential audience is the simple answer. Almost everyone there has basic cable at least, 50-60 channels minimum, many of which are as big or bigger than the CW in spite of it being free to air.

I know nothing of this, except I look with interest at the bbfc website each week to see what the latest episode is called. Per the bbfc website, episode 1.6 is titled, Notes Toward A Post-Reagan Theory Of Party Alliance, Tribalism, And Loyalty: Past As Prologue.

To be honest I think they may have been better calling it 1.6.

PLL doing so badly this season. Hoping Scream gets renewed for S3 but I doubt it.
