Monday early ratings...
CBS: NCIS- 18.98m (2.9) NCIS LA- 14.65m (2.4) Person of Interest- 11.71m (1.9) ABC: S.H.I.E.L.D- 7.03m (2.5) The Goldbergs- 5.01m (1.5) Trophy Wife- 3.77m (1.2) CMA Awards- 3.39m (0.7) NBC: The Biggest Loser- 6.82m (2.1) The Voice- 11.17m (3.3) FOX: Dads- 3.67m (1.4) Brooklyn Nine-Nine- 3.89m (1.6) New Girl- 3.87m (2.0) Mindy Project- 2.88m (1.5) CW: The Originals- 2.03m (0.9) Supernatural- 2.10m (0.9) New Girl must get a new season, those demo numbers are so healthy compared to the other FOX shows, and it apparently makes a lot of money for them. Hoping it can adjust to 2.1 and get 4m+ again soon. Both 0.9 for CW, hoping Arrow tonight can rebound from it's series low of 0.8 because of the WS to around 1.0! |

ABC must be thinking about moving the Dancing with the Stars Results back to Tuesday - if my memory serves me correctly it performed better than the current shows in the slot.

I am surprised they don't speed X Factor along and just get it over and done with.

The difference was that Operation Triunfo was a big hit before their flop season. X Factor US was never a hit to begin with as aging Idol managed better ratings. Fox should just end X Factor now before they lose more money!! |

I'd laugh if WWE Raw (i.e. THE WRESTLING) does a better overall viewers number than X Factor next week. Hey, it's possible. Raw did 3.89 million viewers this week.

There’s a general consensus that The X Factor USA will be axed this season, but what do people think FOX will do with their relationship with Simon Cowell? Do you think they will still want to remain in business with him, either with a new show or ask him to move back to American Idol (which I don’t know he’ll be interested in). Or do you think this will signal the end of their relationship, leaving Cowell free to work for another network (maybe become a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent) or return to the UK perminantly?

It depends on how AI performs with it's own new judge line-up - no Randy, only Keith Urban staying from last season, JLo returning, Harry Connick Jr as a brand new judge. That's a big shake up in itself, and it remains to be seen if the changes will impact on the downward spiral AI has seen on it's ratings. If Fox has correctly anticipated where it's ratings will sit - i.e. the advertisers get value for their money - they may be OK but, after XF, Fox need to pour everything they've got into ensuring AI remains stable.
As for Simon, it definitely feels like he's a bit checked out of the whole game these days. He's doing a 'judging by numbers' routine on XF USA these days, he's clearly more interested in becoming a father than anything else and, let's face it, doesn't exactly need the money. I suspect he'll make a decision one way or the other whether to quit pretty soon. But I doubt that he'll return to AI - XF is HIS show, with him having creative control. I doubt that he'll move backwards into something he has less control over. I suspect Fox feel bound to Simon Cowell, and they've certainly been good for each other over the years. If there's a good project that either of them brings to the table, I imagine they'd want to retain Simon as an on-screen presence - even after all these years, and countless imitation shows (some now doing way better than Simon's shows), he still has a unique factor that no one else, no matter how hard they try, can replicate. I'd suggest that they take a break from him, and then bring him back in a few years to do something new and fresh. Everything just feels old and tired right now - even XF USA. It's boring, so everyone is switching off. |

Well it's Cowell's hubris that has brought this all on. He really should just go back to being the main judge on AI, and righting the ship with his UK's x-factor.
I doubt his ego will let him take both backwards steps though. The problem is AGT's not the draw it was either. Fox really can't be too happy with him ATM, 1.2 last night in the earlies, and what was meant to be a strong lead-in for Glee, leads to Glee getting it's equal lowest figure too, after a huge tribute episode. It's just looking poor all-round. |

No way The X Factor is getting another year - 1.2 last night, absolutely awful. Glee outrated it by three tenths and even that got a pretty bad rating - although as a fan of the latter I couldn't care less as long as it gets a full final season.

Nowhere near as bad as TXF, but The Voice looks a bit poor as well, a series low 2.7, and that could be adjusted down later due to football. The ratings seem to have really nosedived since the first Knockout show. Quote:

Wowsers 1.2.... and an awful viewer number too....
If it is this low now i can only think what will happen as the lives go on, in the UK the ratings usually go down across the series not up! Waiting for the viewing figures each week is more entertaining than the actual show (in a macabre kind of way). No renewal yet, by this time in the last two years it had been renewed, i think that is telling. Adios Xfactor USA. |

![]() I think people are just tiring of talent shows in general. I expect The X Factor will be cancelled soon and American Idol could follow in a few years if things don't pick up. The Voice was proving itself to be an exception but even that is showing signs of falling - we'll see how the next few weeks go. |

CBS had a good night and Grey's Anatomy recovered well from it's pathetic lead in. Scandal seems slightly down on it's series high but The Voice struggled on an off night - it's appearance cannot have helped The X Factor USA which has recorded two more disasters and must be preparing for the axe.

I think a night that has The Voice, TBBT, Grey's, Glee, X Factor etc is just going to look real screwy with those viewing figures. That's not your average Thursday, The Voice really skews that one out - and doesn't help itself by having it's own show air on a non-standard day. Let's see what next Thursday looks like - I think that's when you'll be able to tell just how bad XF ratings are. I mean, they're already terrible, but a normal results show shouldn't look like that (they had to redo the entire contestants in a sing off because of a screwed up phone numbers problem).
Glee's weren't that great - but only because that Cory Monteith tribute took their numbers way over what they should have been for that point in the season. The number ought to have been a tiny bit north of what they got (the last standard Glee episode 502 got a 1.6/5). I think Glee may actually be pretty stable, but pairing it with the XF dead weight - and being up against Grey's (something that their female 18-34 core demo often choose instead, and DVR Glee, which does show in their Live+3 numbers) isn't helping ratings for them. I look at everyone's ratings, and they're all down on where you'd expect even the massive hits to be. TV numbers have dropped across the board, I don't know if anything (other than sport - and TBBT!) is truly thriving these days. |

![]() How embarrassing!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() They are really heading into CW territory now!!!! Much more embarrassing for Once spinoff though. That franchise is dying fast. TVD franchise, meanwhile, is getting stronger as The Originals is still performing well and TVD still being the highest rated CW drama, well into their fifth season!!! TVD must have some really loyal fanbase!!!!Quote:

Final Thursday overnights are in: The Voice adjusted down two-tenths to 2.5. The X Factor is unchanged at 1.2, but it ended up coming fourth in the 20:00 hour, behind The CW's The Vampire Diaries which was adjusted up to 1.3! X Factor was thirteenth out of 16 primetime shows in on the major networks.
EDIT: Snap paltonz! |

TVD franchise, meanwhile, is getting stronger as The Originals is still performing well and TVD still being the highest rated CW drama, well into their fifth season!!! TVD must have some really loyal fanbase!!!!Cable dramas are really thriving now. The Walking Dead is the highest non-sports show for Sunday Night and it's on AMC. Plus, HBO, Showtime and FX has constantly been the strong player for cable TV. Starz is also getting noticed too after Spartacus. Now, other channels such as A&E, History, MTV and VH1 is benefiting from their scripted shows as well. Now, Bravo is having some scripted pilots in the works, the last time I heard and their lineup is entirely on the reality genre. In terms of broadcast, Scandal is still in contention. But, X Factor, oh my word, to be beaten by a CW show - and not even CW's biggest offering - that is going to near kill the show. I'm so certain XF is surely on the brink of cancellation, any day now. They've got to be looking at the next 4 or 5 weeks and wishing they could just bring forward the season finale to put it out of it's misery, but they're stuck whittling down a bunch of uninspiring contestants, with judges who've half checked out of the show already! Please, just die quietly X Factor!!
