Awful for Fox. Really hope BB9 adjusts up though on finals. Shield is getting hammered by This is Us and NCIS NO, its surely going to be the last season for it.

Can't help noticing that all three Fox shows fell by the same two-tenths, week-on-week.

I guess that depends, they don't really have much to replace it with. I wonder how expensive it is to make? I enjoy the show and I hope if it is to end it gets a decent ending... although i suppose it can be referenced onwards in the movies.

Beats me how it got commissioned in the first place?

I struggled to make it through the first hour.

They keep saying it's 'a social media monster' well obviously that social media presence isn't doing anything for ratings.

CBS are pushing Bull hard by the way. Every ad break during the NFL. I wouldn't mind but it's the same trailer, seen dozens of times. Wonder if that actually works?

Gary Glasberg who was showrunner of NCIS, and creator of NCIS New Orleans died today aged 50. http://deadline.com/2016/09/gary-gla...er-1201827682/

I love scream queens but can see why some don't. FOX had such a terrible year last season, they had to renew something.

It will most likely be a goner this season.

FOX'S tuesdays are atrocious. But i don't think they will get rid of B99 or New girl just yet. Both are still profitable because of syndication and B99 usually manages a few emmy nominations.

Except Brooklyn Nine Nine is produced and distributed by NBC Universal - so it is they who profit from it's syndication deals, not FOX. But if FOX cancelled it NBC might look for another broadcaster to pick it up.

How much of SQ's last renewal would have been tied to 20th C Fox being in the ongoing deal with Ryan Murphy to produce American Horror Story. I know it's broadcast on FX, but they're linked in, aren't they? Even so, I can't see how this disaster of a show continues beyond this one. I suspect they brush it off as 'sorta, kinda' not-renewed but 'come to a natural conclusion', because of it's anthology set up between different seasons. Ryan Murphy has basically cornered the market in anthology series, but I'm sure his focus is more on American Crime Story, seeing how well the OJ one did.

Nevertheless, Fox are pretty much in the disaster zone, as far as shows go. Pitch is the only new show I've liked (which is probably the kiss of death), and I suspect it'll need a lot of help after baseball season!

An ok return for Code Black
Expected drops for new shows DS and LW but nothing too harsh

Lethal Weapon getting a 2.0 for its 2nd episode is quite surprising!

Small drop for Grey's. Solid numbers for Good place. No change for Notorious and Pitch. But a series low for Blacklist

I suppose it isn't too premature to call out Notorious and Pitch as future cancellations. I wonder if they will suffer the fate of last year's flop show in the fall. Instead of cancelling them out right, they will reduce the episode order.

Empire is really hurting Modern Family. Plus when you have sitcoms where kids grow up it loses something compared to sitcoms where it's just adults.

Don't think it's that surprising, really well done show, with great chemistry between thew leads, which is obviously vital.

But for a show in it's eight season, it's expected and normal to lose it's audience gradually.

MacGyver wins the night with a 1.7”

I like that MacGyver gave a boost to Hawaii Five-0. A much better lead-in than The Amazing Race. It was a perfect line up for CBS, it got the demos and the viewers. It's a shame MacGyver wasn't better received as I think it will have a big fall and so impact H50.

Yes but losing it quicker due to Empire I reckon.

Thursday Finals

Grey's Anatomy - 2.4
Chicago Med - 1.3
Good Place - 1.3
Superstore - 1.3
HTGAWM - 1.3
Blacklist - 1.1
Notorious - 1.1

So good place adjusted up. It's pairing with Superstore seems to of helped. Hopefully it keeps it up. NBC and the comedy genre have been a mess for a few years now. It's been their dramas that have been their saving grace, especially the chicago franchise.

Those 1.3s for TGP and Superstore is better than NBC last year that's for sure. Shame Med was only a 1.3 too considering i expected it to be easily 1.5 every week in the more difficult Thursday slot. Quite surprising that two NBC comedies are now matching Murder considering Murder's first season was getting 3.0-3.3 for it's first half.

It's a shame how short Murder's domination in the ratings were. People were really turned off by season 2. And yet Scandal and Grey's anatomy both saw massive ratings increases in their second seasons and those seasons are still regarded as the best ones of their entire run. I personally loved season 2. But once you lose your audience, it's very rare and difficult to ever get them back. As long as it sticks to where it is demo wise, it should be safe. Although the show is still a long way off for hitting syndication numbers.
