CBS's Friday schedule looks to be working. MacGyver had a great hold for week 2 and it is boosting Hawaii Five-0. CBS won in viewers and the demo on Friday! How often have they won the demo all night on a Friday?

Looks like the short lived television series graveyard will be preparing a new grave for The Exorcist

I watched episode 2 and enjoyed it, though a lot of it for the wrong reasons eg. this is really funny. Ben Daniels is a fine actor though.

I believe CBS was running late by nearly 30 minutes last night due to football. I wonder if the inflated figures for The simpsons on Fox was because of this as viewers turned over if they were not watching CBS game. I dont think Fox were running late.

Of course Fox also had a late game as well which probably also inflated their shows as well.

Scorpion returns
Conviction and Timeless both go head to head in their debuts

Going to predict a 2,0 for conviction. There is a fair amount of buzz and Hayley Atwell is the main attraction following her two year stint in Agent Carter

Maybe a. 1.8 for Timeless

Double episodes of Scorpion as well.

I'm looking forward to Conviction because Emily Kinney is in it as well, although they have her in a horrible suit most of the time.

Looking forwards also to the time travel series. Shame Frequency isn't on today as well, would make a nice double. (even thought they are on different channels).

I had no idea Emily Kinney is in it. Glad to she is picking up work since TWD. She had a stint on Masters of Sex last year.

Yes and a very nice 'stint' it was, I have it in 1080p.

I fear Conviction will flop, DWTS isn't as good a lead in as it once was and Castle an established veteran struggled in that spot last season

Timeless will premiere well with The Voice lead in but the test will come how much it retains that audience over the next few weeks

I'd be amazed if Scorpion isn't leading the TimeSpot by Mid November

Conviction bombs
Kevin takes a small fall
Great return for Scorpion
Promising start for Timeless

Conviction looked good on the trailer but it hardly screamed original. But i did think it would premiere rather high purely based on Hayley Atwell. Clearly not. Oh well. I was just a point off in my prediction for Timeless though

Pretty Much what I expected on the whole but thought Timeless would be a bit higher then that

Only a 1.9 from a 2.9 Voice Lead In isn't very promising going forward.

Blindspot did a 3.1 last year in that Spot and even The Good Place was higher 2 weeks ago

Given the nature of a show like Timeless which I'm guessing will be heavily serialized starting out that low isn't a good sign as shows like this tend to lose viewers not gain them unless there is a huge buzz over them (Lost, Heroes etc) which Timeless doesn't have

Gotham almost fractional now, Fox will be totally fractional by November except for Wednesdays

I don't seen an issue with 1.9. It wasn't a show people were expecting to be premiere very high anyway. I haven't heard much buzz or love for the show.

LIve+7 DVR Ratings for week 1

http://www.spoilertv.com/2016/02/liv...-jan-24th.html

Some shows get a remarkable increase from their overnight rating. Just shows i think how an original rating may look poor and we think its a possible thing for cancellation, yet if you look at the week figures you would never say its a possible for cancellation.

I agree, the +7 ratings give a real insight into the actual popularity of a programme.
I remember from last season The Blacklist always did extremely well in the +7 ratings (and it’s overnights were generally good too) – and that hasn’t changed this season, with a massive 107% increase.

But the overnights are still what are most important to most networks, as these are the viewings that the advertisers know their commercials are most likely to be seen. The +7 ratings include on-demand viewings (that carry some advertising revenue, but not as much as live broadcast) and DVR viewings (that carry next to no advertising revenue value) so generally aren’t as valuable to the networks.

I remember Quantico did very well on DVR and it was the main reason why it was renewed. But it's rare DVR numbers are taken into consideration when deciding a fate of a tv show.

I personally think they should but it does come down to advertisers and money at the end of the day

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the +7 ratings also include ‘on-demand’ viewers – which do generate advertising revenue (but not as much as traditional broadcast advertising revenue). So the +7 ratings do have some value.
As you’ve said, DVR viewers have very little advertising revenue value as it’s generally assumed viewers simply skip through the commercials. Although things like product placement do provide DVR viewers with some value to the networks.
