Quantco's success on DVR really astounds me.

In fact, many of ABC's drama do well on DVR.

1.9 for NCIS:LA, incredible for a programme in it's 8th season and that’s ratings have been steadily dropping over the past few seasons.
I know the Trump interview must have given it a boost, but it’s move to Sunday has done wonders for its ratings!

I spoke too soon! But still, 1.6 is very good for programme in its 8th season and that was practically on the verge of cancellation at a moment in time last year.

I wonder if CBS originally moved NCIS LA to die on sundays. Because Sundays really is a disaster for most shows these days, unless you are FOX's animated shows. They moved Elementary there during the last quarter of it's fourth season and it has remained there since where it has continued to do worse. But NCIS seems to have broke the mould.

I would agree with this as it is was only getting around 1.1-1.2 i think last year on a Monday night although it was on at 10pm i think. The only thing i dont quite get is, were now on season 8 so if they were on up to 7 season contracts surely it has cost more in cast payments for this season so why dump it to Sundays (so to speak). Of course this has proved with the ratings to be a wise investment but that would have been an unknown.

Given it was getting ratings of 1.1 and 1.2 in the Monday 10pm slot least season, I very much think CBS moving it to Sunday was some sort of demotion for the programme. I suspect they thought it was coming to the end of its life, but had a slight dilemma knowing it still earns them significant revenue in the international market (as part of the bigger NCIS franchise). Their answer – move it to Sunday nights (where expectations are lower) for a season or two, its ratings will continue to slide towards eventual cancellation but they’ll still get international market revenue for another year or two.

However, as we’ve seen, quite the opposite has happened. It’s ratings have increased, and it’s proving a ratings hit on Sunday nights.

Best laid plans and all that...

I don't think it was a demotion on the whole, I think it was more of a leap of faith in an older show that it can boost the night and be a better anchor for its Sunday Lineup, Sunday used to be a high rated night now its lower then Fridays on some networks, I know Cable does big Sundays now impacting the ratings somewhat

It just shows how badly Madam Secretary was doing the past 2 seasons and wasting a decent lead In and on days CBS has the Football overrun from the later Football games it barely registered a boost whereas LA sees huge gains on those afternoons/evenings

Maybe, but that’s quite a leap of faith - thinking it could boost Sunday nights given its ratings had already fallen to 1.1 in the demos...

Madam Secretary should never of been renewed. I have just been looking at it's ratings. 14 of it's 23 episodes of season 2 varied between a 0.9. 1.0 and 1.1. That's dreadful really. Yes it has reached a 1.2. 1.3 and a 1.4 a few times. But it's audience is all over the place.

And now i am looking at it's third season's ratings and this is what the demos are so far

1.1
1.1
1.1
0.8
1.0
1.0

But CBS will squeeze a fourth season out of it for syndication but MS has not really been a wise investment,

Get David Blaine a Season order

Just shows the problem with Agents Of Shield ratings is not 100% the timeslot its in if a show can double its ratings

Good nights elsewhere for everything either growing or staying steady, only NCIS: New Orleans is down by a 0.1

This is Us has been a huge Hit, Will it go past Empire this season at least once and be the no1 Drama of the week

I think the problem with SHIELD has always been it's quality, not it's time slot.

SHIELD seems to be an enigma, nothing in its figures and quality has ever suggested it's continued support by the network. The Marvel tie in must be a sweet idea.

Great night in general for ratings.

This is Us at 2.6 again!! The Flash at 1.2! ABC improved for all of their shows!

0.6 for Scream Queens, Fox really just need to put this show out of its misery.

FOX won't put it out of it's misery yet. But it has already been booked to end on December 20th. It's a shame. I like it. But whatever i like on FOX always flops anyway. And whatever i do not like. runs for years and years. Sad times. Me and FOX have had a funny old relationship over the years.

ABC and FOX have had a bad year, but those ratings are going to be like liquid gold for ABC there. I don't think any of the Tuesday comedies will be going anywhere now, I may even think TRON might have an escape now.

FOX wont' renew Pitch, Rosewood and Scream Queens surely?

As for NBC, remember a few years ago when people were slaughtering the network (2013-2014 season) when it had stuff like Believe, Crisis, Growing Up Fisher, Taxi Brooklyn, Welcome to Sweden, the MJ Fox Show, Working the Engels, Sean Saves the World, Welcome to the Family, Ironside, Dracula, Hannibal and Crossbones?

And now it has the Chicago franchise doing well, This Is Us doing incredibly and comedies like Superstore and The Good Place getting good reviews and being above average. They have yet to go fractional. All the shows i listed above went fractional, in fact the likes of Believe and Crisis went to 0.6 and the others i cant remember but they were def below 0.8.

It all depends how desperate they are. I mean they were desperate enough to renew Sleepy Hollow and Scream Queens last season.

I would agree its the quality. Last season it aired at 9pm on a tuesday and for its first half of its run it was getting 1.3-1.4 for its second half it aired at the same time and dropped to 0.9/1.0. That to me shows their has been a definite drop in quality.
