Can someone just put BatB out of it's misery? Those ratings are embarrassing. Sleepy Hollow is doing well still, I see. I have to say I'm really getting into that show, despite all of it's slight daftness - and it doesn't hurt that Tom Mison is so very pretty!

some of NBC's figures are a little bit embarrassing for a major US network, CBS has been on a roll for some years now, with CSI's and NCIS, TBBT, etc

I have alot of doubts about it getting a 4th season. A series that rates so low, and will doubtfully do well in syndication because it is heavily serialized. In fact....I'm saying right now... Revenge will probably get canned after this season. |

Fox cancellation news - Dads has been cancelled (no surprise) and The Mindy Project has been put on hiatus until late Spring. Glee, which was due to go on an extended hiatus until late Spring (due to Rake being the mid-season launch on Thursdays at 9pm), will now return in late February on Tuesdays at 8pm - this is actually it's old slot from a couple of seasons ago, and not a bad place to be put (other than The Voice results being up against it!). But it can't do any worse than stuck up against the deathly X Factor - which is just going down and down. American Idol on Thursdays needs to do something miraculous from January to revive Fox's situation on that night now.

I guess it is a rare occurrence of a tv network being nice to the fans. I think that It is only 6 episodes to wrap the story up.

If there is one thing I can give The CW credit is that they actually do give fans of the show a proper ending, even if the ratings look like shit - in which other network would axe the show immediately. The execs give the writers an opportunity to bow out. Even Life Unexpected got a conclusion episode (sort of) and they only ran for two seasons, both at 13 episodes. The only exceptions are flagging freshman shows, but even with that The CW gives them a full season order before their axe in the spring. The last premature cancellation I remember was Ashton Kutcher's modeling drama (?) which only lasted two episodes in 2009. In hindsight, The CW did have some profitable shows at the time. The landscape looked different a year later, when only The Vampire Diaries and declining Top Model can make money for them.
I think this season (2013-14) is the first season in a while that The CW actually started to have good ratings again across the whole schedule line-up. Even disappointing numbers don't look too bad when you compare with last season's dud like Emily Owens MD or some other new dramas that failed. The new executive has finally found its footing and it shows. They can actually rival ABC Family in the ratings now with the shows that they have, since both networks do get similar numbers. With that being said, Pretty Little Liars and Switched at Birth still eclipses almost all shows on The CW. Anyways, Nikita fans must be happy that they will get some sort of resolution. As for The Carrie Diaries, I already said that they will make it through spring. However, if the pilots for next season don't look promising and TCD ratings remain stagnant, they can have a possible third and final season to conclude their series. |

I doubt the CW does anything to be nice; they've got a deal with hulu worth $70 million and hulu has a say in which shows get canned, it was said this was the reason Carrie Diaries made season 2.
