The Crazy Ones will get cancelled and it's still confusing for The Millers. Their numbers are alright, but the retention from TBBT is not that exciting.
NBC must love their sitcoms so much to give them endless chances. These numbers are truly awful. Then again, Parks & Recreation and recently-ended 30 Rock gets similar numbers, so what else is new? Community is getting low numbers and coming last in off-net syndications. I wonder if NBC will fulfill their dream of a "six season and a movie"?”
People Choice won't necessarily reflect the huge audiences TBBT garners. Unlimited online voting has basically ensured that the shows who will win big are the ones with a strong social media presence, and really dedicated fandoms. So basically, in the comedy category, Glee!!
It's mad to think that The Crazy Ones is the most likely to be cancelled - given that, on any other network, that would be considered a fairly solid success! But I agree, The Millers is the stronger show ratings-wise, and is highly likely to be renewed. I don't know if any show would manage to retain all of TBBT's audience, I think they do OK. The audience leaving TBBT doesn't seem to go anywhere else (network, anyway), so people are literally turning on their TV for TBBT and switching off when it's over. There's clearly a group of people who only watch that and MF!
Community's numbers are lower than I hoped but then, it's never been a ratings winner. I think the comparison with Parks and Recs is valid - both are high quality, well written shows, but just don't have broad appeal - and perhaps never will. However, the one thing in their favour is that the two shows that follow it - SSTW and Michael J Fox - are performing so horribly this season that Community stands up as a relative success, given the much lower baseline it was operating from (risk of cancellation, showrunner issues, cast changes etc). A reduced 6th season wouldn't be a failure, IMO, and they could parse the 'lost' episodes into that much-longed-for movie anyway!
