The Originals was down to 0.9 and under 2 million . I really hope it adjusts up. However the commentators were saying it is being hit by PLL (I assume that is pretty little liars on ABC family). They were saying that the CW were putting on adverts asking people to change channels which is really mad. They are supposed to be selling advertising not buying it. Unless there is some deal going on. As with previous posts there seems to be a lot of incestuousness amongst the networks.

This is quite funny. The Muppets trailer has also fake twitter remarks so this seems to be in vogue. But I did find someone who said that this was all a publicity stunt as The Originals and Pretty Little Liars are both owned by Warner. I did wonder above if there wasn't something incestuous going on!

Excellent Start for AI, just goes to show how badly XFUSA does in comparison, there's just no room for both on the same network by the looks of it. Arrow was hit and I'm disappointed with the Nashville number, I really like the show but I don't think it's doing enough for renewal this season which is a shame

That's a slightly concerning decline for Idol - approaching 2m down and a drop of 0.8 in the demo despite a lack of competition from the network channels. Does Cable hold the key behind the loss of viewers?

Expect huge ratings today for the 2 NFL championship games - 50m is a possibility

I think AI should be OK as long a sit stays above 10m or over 3.5. They will think about TXF and how much better it performs compared to them. The poor ratings for TXF has pretty much ensured AI will be safe. It will also most likely do better than The Voice which usually gets around 3.0 in the demo.

Just read the initial ratings: 44 m. However what do is interesting is that The Following had a 4.4. People have said that the listings said it started at 10.30 whereas it actually started at 10.20 so many people missed the beginning. The half hours would indicate half the audience stayed on and then left. Will have to see if there is any adjustment.

Apparently they are repeating ep 1 before ep 2 next week so we should see what happens. I found the episode quite good and not just slashing anything that moves (yet)!

AI will be safe, at least until next year. The only downside is that FOX won't be able to command such high ad-rates as they used to, but they'll live. The X Factor is a liability to Fox since day one and it's time the network realizes that. Even Glee and New Girl is more of an asset than TXF this season. I think Idol also made the right choice with the judges casting too. Harry Connick Jr. is fun to watch and it's great to have JLo back. Keith Urban is just there, but I don't mind.

Monday early ratings:
ABC:
The Bachelor- 7.82m (2.3)
Castle- 8.85m (2.0)
Castle has to be the most stagnant performing show this year. It looks good now, but if it stays like that in the next few years, it will be a problem because the production budget will get more expensive, year on year. Their fanbase is also strong as Castle won two People's Choice Awards, a few weeks back. The Bachelor looks over the hill, but looking at the current state of ABC, it looks more like a decent performer. The Bachelorette is also a summer money-maker for ABC, despite a decline last year.

I am impressed with how brilliantly The CW is doing on Tuesdays. Now that the midseason has started, we can really see that The Originals is a hit new show, while The Tomorrow People and Reign is either middling or doing disappointingly. I'm doubtful that Star-Crossed or The 100 will replicate the same success that The Originals has, but it should be interesting. If either or both do well enough, The Carrie Diaries and Reign is likely to be in danger. The Tomorrow People will just scrape through and Hart of Dixie/Beauty and The Beast is a certain goner.

NBC has renewed the daytime drama, Days of Our Lives for two more years, making it to their 50th anniversary. Even though daytime TV is dominated by talk shows, game shows and news magazines, their remaining soaps seems to still have that staying power.

I have about 6 episodes of The Tomorrow People to watch. Looks like I may as well not better. The show seems to be dead in the water.

It's annoying because it's been damaged by its slow start. The last few episodes have been fantastic.

Rake got a terrible 1.7/5 final rating for it's timeslot premier on Thursday. The drop-off from what it got, being put directly after the big football gameon Sunday, is huge. CBS ran a whole night of reruns (TBBT, The Millers etc) and they still beat almost everything they were up against - except American Idol, which just about managed to top TBBT repeat (although it had a big drop from last week)! I don't think Rake will be long for this world, unless it does something amazing in audience retention from here on out! It's not hanging on to even half of the AI audience, with it's lead-in doing nothing. They'd be better off putting Glee back in it's old slot - at least it usually benefited from being put alongside one of the Fox talent shows, what with the natural audience cross-over! AI is turning in decent, not great, numbers - but, compared to X Factor USA, it's a raging success!

Enlisted is such a great show, they should really put it on a Tuesday night. I don't understand the point in putting it in a death slot on Friday nights, it's almost like FOX are wanting to let the sitcom fail (despite it getting a much more overwhelmingly positive response than the likes of Dads).

Glad to see Enlisted ticked up last night in its new time slot, it seemed to benefit Raising Hope too.
