Really ugly ratings for broadcast network on Sunday night. CBS will get adjusted heavily but it's more likely that none of their shows will make the 2.0 mark. In fact, no shows last night had over 2.5!!! The highest is Family Guy on Fox with 2.1 (4.28m), followed by Resurrection on ABC with 2.0 (7.12m). We will see how adjustments play out but these are horrendous ratings.

No doubt Game of Thrones, Mad Men, MTV Movie Awards and RHOA would have done rather well and affected heavily on broadcast. It should be interesting how Sunday cable shows did.

Game of Thrones got 6.3m on HBO, unsure what the demo was.

Ditto.. just didnt have the time to post them much.

Anyway, last night ratings:

Fox is doing terrible!
New Girl is a shadow of its former self.
Meanwhile, NBC's About a Boy and Growing up Fisher are up week on week despite The Voice being down.

Fox is starting to creep into CW territory.

The Orginials is really starting to slip. I'm not overly surprised though, the show started off so strong IMO but has kind of lost it a bit.

I dropped The Originals after about 8 episodes...

Its really slipping though... it usually was up there ratings wise with Arrow and The Vampire Diaries.. while this week it will likely be on par with Reign and The 100.
(I suspect Reign and The 100 will both go up this week as Arrow and TVD are not in repeats)

It got 2.6 Million viewers and 0.8 in the 18-49 demo.

Some recent comparisons for other FX drama launches:

The Bridge 3.0 Million Viewers and 0.9 in the 18-49 demo
The Americans 3.2 Million Viewers and 1.2 in the 18-49 demo

Nothing much to report... mostly repeats last night:

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...es-low/254699/

The 100 is up Week on Week

The 100: 2.02 Mill (0.6)
Arrow: 2.36 Mill (0.7)

The 100 adjusted down a tenth to a 0.5 (1.80m), primarily due to pre-emption in Chicago. Since Chicago is one of the larger markets, almost all commenter at TVbyTN are pissed that it went down. The 100 renewal chances still stand much better than The Tomorrow People though.

After 34 weeks, these are the rankings so far:

Adults 18-49:

1. NBC - 2.7 (up 13% from last season)
2. FOX - 2.5 (even)
3. CBS - 2.4 (down 17%)
4. ABC - 2.1 (down 5%) - looks like Greys and Scandal really helped the average
5. CW - 0.8 (up 14%)

Total Viewers:

1. CBS - 10.732m
2. NBC - 9.278m
3. ABC - 7.951m
4. FOX - 7.532m - FOX really skewed younger audiences this year. Family Guy is a great example of this.
5. CW - 1.91m

According to TVbyTN, the methodology for the measurement was:

Quote:
“The season-to-date numbers are "Most Current" ratings, which are Live+7 Day for all but the two most recent weeks and Live+ Same Day for the two most recent weeks.”

I'm not entirely sure if this week counts as the in-season or summer week since some network still has finales to air, especially ABC with DWTS and Modern Family. NBC has The Voice finale as well.

In my opinion the drop in CBS' figures is due to a very weak season of "The Big Bang Theory".
paltonz
21-05-2014
Yes. Also, their Monday sitcoms underperformed and their entire Sunday lineup pretty much tanked the whole season. The Good Wife may be good for syndications (especially for repeat runs, should it be on Lifetime or TNT) but is a severe liability now in first-run primetime. They are lucky that they have older viewers and syndications to back them up because low 1s, on a weekly basis, is really a crap figure. Even The Mentalist grows out of TGW's audiences!!!

ABC (9-11pm) - DWTS Finale - 2.4 (14.86m) - Last spring finale: 2.7
NBC (9-11pm) - The Voice Finale - 3.3 (11.57m) - Last spring finale: 4.4
CW (9pm) - Supernatural - 1.1 (2.28m)
FOX (8pm) - Idol Performance Finale - 1.7 (6.61m)
FOX (9pm) - I Wanna Marry Harry Premiere - 0.7 (2.05m)

FOX, what were you thinking!?!?!? Seriously. 2003 was 11 years ago. The trailer really spoke for itself. Wouldn't be surprised if it got cancelled this week like The Will on CBS in the mid-2000s. As for Idol, this seriously is bad, even so that it didn't clash with The Voice. I wonder how the Idol Tour will do this time around? The season 12 tour was a commercial disappointment with some dates selling less than 45% of the venue! The lowest was 32% attendance in a 6600-seater Louisville show, followed by 37% attendance in 7200-seater Newark show. In addition, 10 shows got cancelled.

I think FOX know that American Idol is no longer the money maker it once was but do not have the guts to axe it yet and admit defeat to The Voice.

True. Even if The Voice eroded this cycle, it is still a far better performing music talent show. To rub salt on Fox's wound, DWTS on ABC and Survivor on CBS is edging Idol now. Survivor finale aired against Idol results finale tonight. If Survivor wins (which they likely will), Fox will finish red-faced. Though ABC's Modern Family season finale will win their timeslot and be the number one show of the night. Fox better hope Rising Star on ABC won't become a hit this summer. Otherwise, season 14 will be an even tougher ride for them.

- Idol on FOX (2.6/10.14m) narrowly beat Survivor (2.5/9.50m) for the season finale battles. We'll have to wait and see if Idol can hold that win when the final ratings come in a few hours. Plus, Survivor ran 13 minutes overtime. EDIT: Survivor is down from last spring, which got 2.7 on a Sunday. Idol, meanwhile, had a steep drop from last spring's 3.6. Good luck with that tour.

- Modern Family finale won the night with 3.6/10.23m. The Middle got 2.0/7.53m with their one-hour finale while cancelled Mixology ended with 1.3/4.01m. Revolution concluded their run with 1.1/4.21m. Such a huge fall from last season.

Will be interesting to see if Mindy can beat New Girl next season, Mindy was topping the New Girl lead in at the close of the season and that repeat did the same thing. Also interesting as New Girl has got a full season order and Mindy is only on 15 episodes

It does seem odd that Mindy is beating NG in the repeats, it seems Mindy is gaining a lot of new viewers not only in the US but across the world.

Still a lot of repeats, cant wait for the new shows to start!

Wednesday finals:

CBS:
Big Brother- 6.55m (2.3)
Criminal Minds (r)- 4.81m (1.0)
Extant- 5.78m (1.0)

FOX:
SYTYCD- 4.12m (1.3)

NBC:
Americas Got Talent- 10.47m (2.0)
Taxi Brooklyn- 5.26m (0.9)

ABC:
The Goldbergs (all repeats)- 4.16m (0.9), 3.90m (1.0), 3.48m (1.1), 3.50m (1.2).
Modern Family (r)- 3.34m (1.1), 3.52m (1.1)

CW:
Penn and Teller: Fool Us- 2.07m (0.7)
The 100 (r)- 710,000 (0.2)

The Goldbergs doing fantastically in repeats going up in demo every show, it will do well in new season!

Penn and Teller is surely a renewal, its rating very well for a summer show on the CW.

Top 2 non main channels (excl repeats):

MTV: Teen Mom- 1.553m (0.9)
History: American Pickers- 3.205m (0.7)

Is this a US remake of the ITV show that was hosted by Jonathan Ross? Or are the CW broadcasting the ITV original? Wikipedia says its the ITV original.
If it is, then a 2.07m (0.7) rating on the CW, and during the summer, for a show they just bought in from another broadcaster is amazing.
