I wonder how Shonda Night went last night in the states. I already have How to get away with murder down as being one of the biggest hits of the year.

I think Viacom would find something else to show for Channel 5.

You have to give Grey's a lot of credit
10 years on the air and on the 11th season premiere, it managed a demo of 3.0. Impressive.

Very good for Scandal and Murder.

Hawaii and Bloods returns tonight. Curious to see how they do. They both saw a decrease in demos last season.

Am I right in saying that Greys, Scandal and Murder is all produced by Shonda Rhimes? If so, jesus, ABC should have her produce every single show All three of her shows did fantastically.

Massive kudos to Greys, as you said, after a decade, still getting 3.0!!

Grey's did well, I do wonder how long it'll keep on going, it's getting more expensive to make and when Big Bang Theory returns to Thursday, the demo will likely be hit.

Yep, Shonda does do all three shows. She is a brilliant creator, writer and producer. She writes brilliant characters and always comes up with great story arcs.

Grey is likely expensive these days but it makes ABC a lot of money internationally as well. It's always been a ratings success over here. I believe Ellen and Patrick are both signed until season 12.

I think Ellen Pompeo leaving would signal the end of the show since you can't really have Grey's Anatomy without Meredith Grey but ultimately it would be up to Shonda Rhimes, it's incredible that it was a midseason replacement and ended outlasting the show it replaced.

Or even ABC.

It'll be interesting what older shows do get cancelled or end this year, we know that The Mentalist, Glee, Parenthood, Parks and Recreation and Two and a Half Men are ending, Bones I would think is 50/50 but given FOX is in dire straits, they may renew for one more season, CSI I think CBS would give a final season rather than simply cancel it.

I think CBS wil cancel the good wife. I just hope for fans, it is cancelled in advanced to give it time to wrap up.

and i also predict a cancellation for Revenge but i feel creatively, it needs to come to an end anyway.

I think The Good Wife is 50/50, I wouldn't be surprised if it get a final shortened season since it's CBS owned and more episodes mean more money syndication wise. Revenge I agree will likely face the axe as it's hits 88 episodes this year which means ABC have enough episodes to syndicate it.

Bones is the difficult one to predict. It may not do amazingly, but it's a veteran show which has been on for a decade which (after FOX's horrific 2 weeks so far) will probably be safe. FOX will have other shows to axe before that, unless they want it to end and want it to go out on a relative high.

Shondaland Thursday started superb!!!! The fact that Murder managed to retain all the demo audiences is outstanding!! Grey's performed very well for a show in it's 11th season and airing on the Thursday 8pm slot. It paid off since no new shows managed to survive there after Ugly Betty. Scandal is now a monster hit and it has been trending on Twitter for quite a while now, during their airing and after. Shondaland also held very well against football.

NBC struggled but they never did that well on Thursdays in the last few years. Bones started low but looks like a hit when compared with all other FOX shows currently on schedule. Football is, well, delivering football ratings.

Nice ratings for ABC and Shonda lol. Grey's up almost 1 million viewers on the season ten opener. I do worry for the ratings when Big Bang theory returns to Thursday 8pm though. Still one of my favourite shows. Scandal also up 1.6m on last season opener.

I wouldn't worry about Big bang going back to thursday, as that has been it's time slot since season 4 where even then it smashes in the ratings. But for some reason, they moved it into 2 broke girls's timeslot for a short time.

I meant I worry for Grey's ratings in the 8pm slot against TBBT. Surely they will drop against the much stronger competition? Maybe not though, season ten was successful after four years out of the top twenty-five shows and first time in the top five 18-49 demo since season five so hopefully they keep up

More than likely drop yeah, but not to the point where you should worry about the show's future. What Grey's will lose in ratings on when it first airs, will likely gain in DVR.

Poor performances by Hawaii and Blue Bloods

I am expecting cancellations from them as well by CBS. I can see quite a big clear out from CBS next year.
