Love Forever and good to see it rise this week even if it was just an 0.1 jump, its a start

Is 1.2 enough, debatable but it could be enough to get it additional episodes and a full season which would allow a bit more time to grow, It does reasonably well in Viewing figures as well winning the night for ABC beating Agents of Shield so there is an audience for it even if it is older skewing.

A lot will depend on what ABC want from it, it Is up on what they've had in that timeslot over the past few years, would they be content with that rather then trying and starting again next year with a likely failure again? If it was an ABC show I think they might of just done that keep it around to enhance syndication purposes but its Warner Bros produced so they wont gain anything from it getting syndicated.

Also no Dramas aside from Shondaland on Thursdays are getting good numbers, Revenge is only at 1.2, Nashville 1.3, Resurrection is dropping like a stone at is down to 1.5, Shield is at 1.6, Castle also fell this week to 1.6 so if Forever can get itself moving upwards then it does have a real shot.

If ABC can MLS (which is surely going to happen this week) and can get some better ratings leading into Shield it could help both Shield and Forever.

I find it interesting that no new shows or any shows have faced the axe yet on broadcast. Usually, four or five would be gone by now.

CBS have reduced CSI's episode order from 20-18. Apparently this is because of scheduling issues to make way for CSI cyber and Battle creek.

NBC have ordered a pilot for the remake of Bewitched. The new series will follow Daphne, Samantha's grandaughter.

Shame the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer has leaked, I'm sure the reason they were showing it during AOS was too boost viewing figures

But a 1.2 is a flop for ABC. An average ABC drama to be classed as a hit needs to be 1.5 and over. I would be shocked to the core if ABC gave it a full season or even just a few additional episodes. I am afraid Forever is more than likely gone after it's 13 episodes. I haven't seen it but based on public perception, it is meant to be a good show. Revenge has to be a goner this season as well but then this is a show that should of easily had been a one/two season at best and ABC will have 88 episodes to package in syndication anyway. Nashville's ratings have always been meh. The only time it ever performed well was it's pilot but it makes money for ABC. ABC will more than likely give the show a fourth season so they can send it off into syndication as well. SHIELD is doing ok and so is Castle, but castle is in it's seventh season so a decline in ratings and demo's is normal. I expect renewals for both SHIELD and Castle.

The shondaland shows are in no danger. They are ABC's top rated dramas.

ABC have a really strong range of midseason dramas lined up that could easily replace Forever anyway.

I'm not sure that means it's saved - it's just the network wanting to delay their decision until after the baseball, and ordering a few extra scripts keeps the writers employed until then.

I'm just surprised they reduced it by so little. Mind you, with 10-11 episodes airing before the winter break, it could be as few as 7 episodes in Jan/Feb, leaving the bulk of the winter/spring schedule free for their new shows. I'm presuming this is the end of the road for the original CSI. They've not announced a cancellation, but it's surely coming fairly soon. I guess a February end will allow them to go out during sweeps, and probably bring back their big stars for one last go, like William Petersen. Even with CSI: Cyber coming along, it feels like the end of an era. The days of wall-to-wall crime procedurals from the CSI and L&O brands have long gone. The NCIS juggernaut survives still though!

I'm actually amazed that Castle is likely to get a renewal. It has over the years gained many fans despite the ratings being middling and stagnant. The drop might have to do with the World Series as I expect a lot of shows to drop this week. It's such a shame that Castle never attempted a new timeslot, but it would have lost more viewers than gained anyways. On the bright side, they seem to be doing decent in syndications. The Middle is like According To Jim - average numbers but surviving enough to get more syndication episodes.

Shondaland is safe for this season. Murder is a definite hit as the show is also topping in viewer gains in Live +3 and Live +7 DVR ratings. Their additional number gains are what Modern Family used to get a few season ago. Grey's and Scandal are also residential darlings for ABC. Revenge and Nashville will end after this season. Like I said earlier, I don't think Revenge will have a long lifespan in off-net syndications as Nashville would. Lifetime already has Project Runway, Devious Maids and Witches of East End. They might not even need Revenge as their off-net. Didn't Desperate Housewives tank in syndication (or at least underperformed)?

Yeah i know additional scripts means the show isn't saved, especially as Selfie got additonal scripts as well. I read on another site that shows that are not doing well are given additional scripts while the network decide the show's fate.

CSI: Vegas for me died when Grissom left and I never stuck around to see Catherine leave.

NCIS is most defiantley kicking ass and all three shows will more than likely continue next season.

I am not amazed at all. A 1.6 for castle is very healthy for any drama series. Like i said, it is in it's 7th year and shows always shed viewers as the years go by.

I wouldn't call a 2.0 for the Middle as average. That is very good. It's not as high as what Modern family gets but a 2.0 for a comedy series is very good.

Shows like Revenge never do that great in syndication, purely because how serialized it is. The most successful shows in syndication are normally sitcoms and crime dramas, because they normally are very self contained, don't normally need to be seen from the pilot and don't have major storylines spanning across as a whole season. Revenge is one of those shows you need to view from the start and watch every episode, otherwise you will not have a clue.

I don't know how Desperate Housewives did in syndication to be honest.

An ok return for The 100

Stalker is still keeping hold of it's 1.7. Not bad for a show that was butchered by critics and predicted to be a flop this season. I expect a full season order for it.

I think CSI might get a final season if the midseason shows don't do so hot and if the development slate doesn't produce good results. CSI along with Survivor did make CBS into the most watched network so I think it's likely they'll have a final hurrah for the show plus it's still a solid seller in syndication and worldwide for CBS so it might be an incentive to produce 13-15 more episodes/

CBS is going to a huge period of change with Two and a Half Men ending, Letterman bowing out and CSI potentially finishing.

You can never really tell with CBS. They have a long history of actually cancelling their long running shows and not giving them a proper send off. I could bore you all with a list as i recently did some digging into CBS's past.

NY and Miami never got a proper finale, although never ended on cliffhangers.

NY did end the last few seasons as if it was a series finale and I think NY ended well with Mac asking Chrissie to marry him while Miami was the team playing basketball together. CSI if they can lure William Peterson and Marg Helgenberger back to do a few episodes, people may tune in. CSI given its long running status if it doesn't get another season should be allowed to wrap things up.

CBS has announced The Late Late Show with James Corden is to air March 9th which is a bit of a gap between Ferguson ending and Corden starting but I guessing Corden has commitments such as promotion of Into the Woods plus time to get the show ready. I wonder if we'll hear the airdates of both Letterman's final Late Show and the Late Show with Stephen Colbert

OK for The 100, but ideally it will hit 0.6 a few times throughout the season to get a renewal and never go below 0.5. It really deserves to be doing better, IMO.

I think CSI will get a proper series finale like ER. If Grey's Anatomy's spinoff, Private Practice, can get a conclusion episode, I see no reason why CSI can't. Like you said, CSI did make CBS so it's fitting that they give them a good bow that they deserve. If Criminal Minds decides to finish, they are likely to have a proper series finale as well since most of the characters do have a story arc outside the procedurals.

ABC sitcoms held up well as Modern Family tied with World Series in final numbers (although MF got 10% share and World Series got 11% in 18-49). Nashville is just churning out episodes for syndications but coming in third in timeslot certainly don't help much. I wonder what NBC will do with SVU?? The 100 don't really look that good on their return. The Mysteries of Laura might get the similar treatment as Harry's Law at this rate. Alright to decent total viewers but terrible demo numbers.

I agree, I think CBS will likely let the producers know in advance if they want this season or next the last so they can write a proper finale

ABC have announced some extra episode orders

Grey's, Modern family, Black-ish, The Middle, The Goldbergs have all been given two extra episodes

Castle , Once upon a time and Resurrection have both given one. Resurrection was only given 13 episodes this season so the extra episode totals to 14. I wonder why the low episode count? Producers request maybe.

Nothing on scandal though? Although i wonder if Kerry may not want to do extra episodes so she has extra time to spend with her baby.

EDIT: ABC have confirmed they are not giving Resurrection the extra one episode anymore.

I’m know I’m talking about ratings at 12:30am, but there’s more money in late night than maybe ever before so here goes...

I think CBS not starting ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ until March is a risky move. As much as I like ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’ its already fallen behind NBC’s ‘Late Night with Seth Myers’ (which has only been on the air about 9 months, compared to Ferguson’s 10 years). What are CBS going to air in the 2+ month gap between Ferguson and Corden? Ferguson reruns? If so they are practically giving viewers to NBC, and its going to be twice as hard for CBS/Croden to succeed come March.

CBS have also confirmed there will be a gap between ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ and ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, mainly due to the fact that the new show will still be coming from the Ed Sullivan Theatre which will therefore need to be completely re-done. So I expect CBS to plan to do this over the summer, maybe Letterman leaving in June and Colbert starting in September, with work at the Ed Sullivan Theatre taking place around the clock to make the gap as minimal as possible. Again CBS can’t afford to be letting viewers leave for NBC and their runaway hit ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon’ because all they are offering up is reruns.

EDIT: Just found out that CBS will be having guest hosts to fill the gap between Ferguson and Corden. Which will probably be better for CBS’s ratings, but a bit scary for Corden. If any of the guest hosts are popular and Corden struggles then CBS will already have potential replacements ready step in!

Just a point about Castle renewal, it is in season 7 and it might be cut due to cast not wanting to carry on. Nathan Fillion is probably looking for a way out, Stana Katic has just changed her representatives, so what does that mean?

Just saying Castle has not been lighting any fires for a few seasons now and if cast members are getting restless, it might just mean they call it a day.

Well looks like Bad Judge will be gone, with its consistent 1.2 it looked "OK" but now it's at 1.0, it seems obvious that it will be gone along with A to Z, and Parenthood which is on its last season... when are they ever going to find a hit Thursday show! I don't know why they don't just repeat things on Thursday and then fill up the other days with everything else. Thursday is where NBC shows go to die! Parenthood at least is holding on and has extreme consistency still.

TVD lower than Arrow this time! Not very good for Reign either, or Gracepoint on FOX.

I had a feeling Bad judge would just about get a full season order but that recent rating is dreadful and has changed my mind.

Plus look at how worse A-Z is doing. I wonder if NBC will cancel both, leaving 60 minutes of a slot they can use for reruns or bring forward a midseason show. The only shows i can see getting a full season for NBC are Laura and Marry Me and more than likely Constantine as well.

I expect CBS will renewing Thursday Night Football, I imagine if they didn't simulcast with NFL Network, the ratings would be a lot higher. Wonder if CBS would consider airing all the Thursday games and keeping Big Bang Theory on Mondays.



If I were to guess, I think Letterman's last show will be May 22nd or May 29th and they take 2-3 months to renovate The Ed Sullivan. Letterman's first show for CBS was in August so a late August/early September start for Colbert would be ideal.
