RIP Utopia

Salv, i can't help but feel The CW will be lost without supernatural and VD. They have essentially been the show's flaghship shows for years. But then they do have The Flash and Arrow to take over though.
Pretty sure they will feel lost. Even if the two shows were drastically dropping and gaining a 0.3 weekly, I get the feeling the CW will feel quite scared to let them go because they are used to having the two shows on air, especially Supernatural. They may have The Flash and Arrow as their flagship show, but being so used to a show, Supernatural for example, it will be surely be difficult for them to let it go. Think about it, Supernatural aired on the WB for 1 season, and then moved to the CW when it launched. So the CW have never seen a time where they didn't have it on air.

The CW will need to make sure they have a strong crop of shows due for the next few years

As for Madam Secretary, i can't place my thoughts on this 100 per cent. It isn't a flop. But it's 1.4/1.5 isn't perfect for a sunday night, especially for a show in it's first season by CBS standards.

So ABC was up it seems. Will post the Friday and Sunday finals when they are released later. I'm sure there will be a few adjustments!

I will do a large write up later with Sunday finals (which has only demos available and not total viewing figures), Sunday cable ratings and Monday early ratings (or finals depending on whether they are released by the time I post).

1.6 for the millers. It's declining, but slowly. Seems to have lost it's audience this season. It was the most successful new comedy of last season. Although as i said before, i can see why. Sean Hayes is a show killer. If The millers is cancelled, this will be his third cancelled sitcom in three years.

Sunday finals:

CBS:
NFL- 29.09m (9.4)
60 Minutes- 17.80m (3.4)
Madam Secretary- 13.21m (1.8)
The Good Wife-105m (1.4)

ABC:
Americas Funniest Videos- 6.12m (1.2)
Once Upon A Time- 7.54m (2.6)
Ressurection- 4.99m (1.4)
Revenge- 4.67m (1.2)

NBC:
Football- 3.41m (1.1), 10.12m (3.6), 18.59m (6.7)

FOX:
Bobs Burgers- 2.89m (1.5)
The Simpsons- 4.22m (2.0)
Brooklyn Nine Nine- 3.41m (1.7)
Mulaney- 1.63m (0.7)

Things are looking bright for a B99 third season. Good to see Once adjust up too!

Sunday cable:

AMC:
The Walking Dead- 14.52m (7.6)
The Talking Dead- 5.98m (3.0)

Incredible as usual for TWD!

Monday early ratings:

CBS:
2 Broke Girls- 7.96m (2.2)
The Millers- 6.78m (1.6)
Scorpion- 10.30m (2.2)
NCIS LA- 9.13m (1.5)

ABC:
DWTS- 13.20M (2.1)
Countdown to CMA Awards-7.70m (1.3)

NBC:
The Voice- 11.89m (3.4)
The Blacklist- 9.20m (2.4)

FOX:
Gotham- 6.55m (2.4)
Sleepy Hollow- 4.49m (1.5)

CW:
The Originals- 1.30m (0.6)
Jane The Virgin- 1.42m (0.6)

CW was likely to be inflated so expect adjustments (down most likely). The Millers continues to decline, but I reckon it's done declining... maybe.

Gotham rises two tenths! Looks like it has finally stabilised.

Yeah, I doubt The Millers will get a S3, but you never know. Knowing CBS, they will move it behind Big Bang next year...

CBS already has two mid season comedies to replace both The McCarthys and The Millers. If I was CBS, I'd cancelled The McCarthys, move the Millers to summer or a Saturday slot and air Mike and Molly on Mondays and The Odd Couple on Thursdays at mid season

The Millers benefited last season by being behind the Big Bang Theory.

A renewal seemed a Lock before the season as its a CBS produced show thus giving them all the incentive to get it to Syndication but at these numbers in just season 2 and a 3rd season virtually guaranteeing a 4th as well due to the Syndication gods it will be interesting to see what CBS does with it.

I'd still lean to it being renewed for now as there will be gaps in the comedy front next season with TAAHM finishing and potentially the final season of Mike and Molly and The McCarthys unlikely to see a 2nd season.

Extremely strange Tuesday. The repeats for other shows lead to FOX pick up quite a bit with a great start for Masterchef which helped out New Girl by around 4 tenths and Mindy by around 3 tenths from last time they aired.

Take early ratings as a pinch of salt, a lot of adjustments are expected.

Early ratings:

CBS:
NCIS New Orleans(r)- 10.00m (1.4)
NCIS (r)- 11.71m (1.5)
Elections Night Coverage- 5.36m (0.8)

NBC:
The Voice, The Road to the Live Shows- 9.52m (2.3)
Marry Me- 4.98m (1.3)
About A Boy- 4.13m (1.1)
Election Special- 4.27m (1.0)

ABC:
Selfie- 3.94m (1.0), 3.42m (0.9)
Marvel, 75 Years- 3.85m (1.2)
News 2014, Your Vote- 3.51m (0.8)

FOX:
Masterchef Junior- 5.05m (1.8)
New Girl- 3.42m (1.6)
The Mindy Project- 2.91m (1.3)

CW:
The Flash (r)- 1.87m (0.6)
Supernatural (r)- 1.29m (0.5)

NBC collapsed with no The Voice anchoring the night. Marry Me and AAB are done I think.

NBC are a bit like fox at the moment. All the new shows are bombing.

Laura's ratings are poor but not poor enough for cancellation, hence it's full season order

Marry me has seen a big drop from it's premiere. However like Laura, i think it will get a full season order.

NBC better hope the new Katherine Heigl show does well, which premieres in a week or so.

Ouch at The Flash and New Orleans, but i think that is largely due to the election shows that were on. Just a one off dent for them.

I don't know what's happening with NBC. Up until 3 weeks ago, I'd say it was doing well... and then when all the comedies came, it just all went pear shaped.

NBC.... where comedy goes to die. They could move Modern Family there and it'd probably go from a 3.5 demo to a 1.5 demo! I don't think any NBC show will do well now anymore.

By the way, The Flash was a repeat. It's an incredible rating for a repeat. Both The Flash and SPN repeat beat The Originals and Jane's new episodes.

Damn, I wish Friends with Better Lives would have stayed It was probably the best comedy across all networks in the last 3 year IMO!

There were a lot of election preemptions last night so I'd wait for the final numbers before commenting too much.

Tvbythenumbers has the Millers as a lock for renewal because its produced by CBS but surely they aren't that desperate to get it to syndication! Think the bear has this one wrong myself.

Tv by the numbers made that assumption before season 2 even premiered though. It all depends if the demos get lower. If the show keeps up or above the demo's it has recently been getting, then a third season is more than likely.

How did this go so wrong?
About a Boy's first season was a success for NBC, now only a few episodes into season two and its clearly heading for cancellation (by its current standards).
I haven't seen any of season two yet, has the quality drastically dropped or something? Or is the day/timeslot the reason behind its downfall?

I think with most of NBC's new shows flopping, they may need to compromise and renew one or two. I think they should focus and nurture Laura. It's demos are not good but they haven't gone lower than 1.2. 1.2 isn't brilliant but it isn't disasterous. I think if Laura can keep that 1.2 going, then i think Laura may get a second season and NBC will give it a major launch in a great timeslot next fall.

The demos are so low for so many shows nowadays, just makes you think that demo just doesn't like watching live so much anymore.

Really do think that Networks have got to take the ratings outside of the key demos more seriously, as they're the only one watching the adverts.

I think that Laura getting that full series order may be the start of that. Even two years ago it would have been unceremoniously dumped with a 1.2.

More and more people are no longer watching television as they used to. I'll be honest. I very rarely watch anything live. Only the soaps or talent reality shows. But like a lot of people, i record everything and watch it whenever. DVR ratings imo should be added to the live ratings as a total ratings overall.
