Thanks little-monster, sadly CBS and NBC were pre-empted by the football so is likely to adjust down (I mean, the cancelled NBC shows would have been probably safe with demo's like that...maybe). Take as a pinch of salt because I reckon a lot of adjustments will be made in the finals.

Thursday early ratings:

CBS:
The Big Bang Theory- 16.57m (4.2)
Mom- 11.52m (2.6)
Two and a Half Men- 9.82m (2.3)
The McCarthy's- 7.43m (1.7)
Elementary- 7.68m (1.4)

ABC:
Greys Anatomy- 8.04m (2.4)
Scandal- 9.78m (2.9)
How To Get Away With Murder- 9.18m (2.8)

NBC:
The Biggest Loser- 4.73m (1.3)
Bad Judge- 4.18m (1.1)- Already Cancelled
A to Z- 3.17m (1.0)- Already Cancelled
Parenthood- 4.31m (1.4)

FOX:
Bones- 5.60m (1.3)
Gracepoint- 2.98m (0.7)

CW:
The Vampire Diaries- 1.56m (0.7)
Reign- 1.32m (0.4)

Poor TVD. It was the best episode this year IMO. But I reckon it will adjust up, to think at this point, Arrow is 4 tenths above it! and 7 tenths above Reign!!

I feel a little sorry for Parenthood, with a good lead in, it'd be getting high 1s I think, but with weak lead ins all the time, it holds very well and always increases. If it stays at 1.4 demo, then it would match Elementary, and if Elementary adjusts down, it would beat it! Parenthood is doing it's last season proud I think.

Doubt Mom holds, but if it does, it'd be great! It however lost 2 tenths last week from the early to final ratings :/ The McCarthy's holding 100% of its premiere demo! Surely that will adjust down!

Just get rid of Gracepoint!!!

ABC- Killing it. They are ruling Thursdays with the extremely robust and veteran Greys, and then two dramas doing very well. Go Murder!!

If CBS is adjusted down could The Big Bang Theory be below last week's season low? And it's hardly got the opposition of Monday night either unless the cable channels have stronger programming at 8pm on a Thursday.

I don't think so, I think a few weeks ago, it went under 4.0 up against strong competition.

Thursday night football is still airing just not on CBS. CBS has also been pre-empted by football the last two weeks in not insignificant markets.

I wonder if CBS renews Thursday Night Football, they should be allowed to air the full season until January, it did well for them but at the expense of their regular programming.

Big Bang Theory's season low this year is last week's 4.1

It ran some repeats on Monday though that were lower which may be what you're thinking of.

I don't think the NFL will want to sell them the full season (it undermines part of their pitch for The NFL Network) and I don't think CBS would want to pay the amount they'd have to for the full season.

Oh, had a feeling that it got a 3.9 a few weeks back, maybe that was the early ratings and it adjusted up two tenths.

Ah, then if it adjusts down two tenths then yes, it will be a season low.

What I don't get, is the change of demo against the actual viewers. Last year, TBBT was getting exactly the same millions of viewers, 15-17m, but was getting demo's of 5.0-5.5, so does the drop of demo mean that a lot of older viewers are now watching, and a lot of younger viewers have dropped it? A little odd to fall one full rating point despite staying the same in terms of actual viewership.

That explains why The Big Bang Theory is not capitalising on weaker opposition from the 'main' channels.

Thanks.

TBH I think if CBS did want extra football aside from their current football rights, Thursday Night Football aside, it would be Sunday Night Football but NBC wouldn't give that up without a fight plus the Sunday Afternoon games do really well and I don't think they could afford both.

Going off-topic, CBS launched CBSN which is an online news network, it's an interesting concept and they've been pushing digital with CBS All Access as well, whether it succeed remains to be seen. I think Les Moonves was interested in acquiring CNN but Turner aren't willing to sell it.

ABC have given Forever a full season order and officially killed Selfie although all 13 episodes are still scheduled to air.

I'm happy they are doing a full season for Forever! Not surprised about Selfie.

Shocked about Forever but ABC must have a soft spot for it, because it's demos have not good enough to warrant 9 more episodes.

Selfie is the first cancellation of the season I managed to get correct so far.

You didn't expect Manhattan Love Story or the NBC Thursday comedies to be canned?

If Elementary wasn't in its third season. You can bet it would be moved or pulled from the schedules.

I'm guessing Mike and Molly or The Odd Couple will be replacing The McCarthys by January.

CBS Thursdays are doing awful - last season this was their top night. Imagine how bad they'd be doing without TBBT!

Damn That looks bad for Mom. Why on earth are people not watching?

Good that TVD was up.

Great to see ABC stayed still.

I had Bad Judge down as a hit to be honest

Constantine is officially in cancellation territory now. I gave it a pass last week because it was halloween and every show saw a decline but with everything back to normal, it saw a small rise but only managed 1.0. I really had this down as a hit but even with Grimm as a lead in, it isn't helping. I can't predict whether NBC will see out all 13 episodes, and cancel it or give it 5 more like Marry me or even a full back 9 like Laura.

and Cristela is dead, but with ABC giving Forever a surprising full season, it wouldn't shock me if Cristela got a full season as well.

Full Friday early ratings:

CBS:
The Amazing Race- 6.10m (1.2)
Hawaii Five 0- 8.91m (1.2)
Blue Bloods- 11.41m (1.4)

ABC:
Last Man Standing- 6.63m (1.3)
Cristela- 4.98m (1.0)
Shark Tank- 7.76m (1.9)
20/20- 6.95m (1.7)

NBC:
Dateline- 7.80m (1.4)
Grimm- 4.90m (1.3)
Constantine- 3.10m (1.0)

FOX- All repeats

CW:
Who's Line- 1.40m (0.5)
America's Next Top Model- 1.07m (0.4)

That's quite an increase for Blue Bloods which usually gets an average around 1.2. Good to see Grimm increase by two tenths, hope it doesn't adjust down! It shouldn't do as half hours were 1.3/1.3. No channels disgraced themselves really, they all did slightly better than last week at least.

The entire NBC Thursday line-up for the Fall struck me as cheap(ish) place holder until The Blacklist moves midseason so I never had any faith in any of it. Which is a shame since I actually thought Bad Judge and A to Z showed some promise.

Constantine is officially in cancellation territory now...
At the very least Constantine will finish out its 13 episodes. I assume it'll air the same pattern that Dracula did last year except it'll have a couple of additional episodes (Dracula was 10) to tide NBC over until Hannibal returns March/April time. At this level though I don't see them ordering more.

As a fan of both Blue Bloods and Hawaii Five O I’m watching these ratings very closely as I think CBS will axe one of them at the end of these season.
Both are now in their 5th seasons (which makes for good syndication deals) and are fairly expensive to produce. And both average around the same 1.1/1.2 demo, which for any other night wouldn’t be good, but for a Friday is acceptable.
Typically Blue Bloods has more viewers, but older, while Hawaii Five O has less viewers, but younger.

Of course I could be wrong and both may be axed. Or renewed.

I think Hawaii will be the one to be axed. It's demos are lower. Blue Bloods manages about 1.3/1.4. Hawaii's have mainly been 1.2 this season, and even scored a 1.1 a few weeks ago.

I predict CBS will air Elementary in it's place. Elementary is doing awful but it's a season away from syndication so bunging it on Friday's with Blue Bloods will put their mind at ease. Plus both are cop/detective shows so they are a perfect friday night match.

Maybe you are right, Hawaii Five O’s demos do seem to be decreasing over the years where as Blue Bloods have remained fairly consistent.
You’re theory about axing Hawaii Five O and move Elementary into its slot actually makes a lot of sence.
If Hawaii Five O does bow out at the end of this season then 5 full seasons these days is still quite an achievement.
