I expected higher for Agent Carter. It has been one of the most hyped new shows since it was picked up. If it managed a 1.9 for it's premiere, it will more than likely drop to perhaps a 1.5/1.6 next week.

Marry me is bombing. 0.8. Ouch. Such a shame as it remained consistent last year. Unless it was dented by Agent Carter

Agent carter did little to drum any interest in Forever.
I didn't expect it would pull in much more than sheild, why would it? People know they are linked and I think many just see it as sheild anyway, I do anyway.

Strong returns for 2 Broke girls, Mike and Molly, Gotham and Scorpion. A decent return for Sleepy Hollow. State of Affairs bombs. I had that as undecided but i would assume that show is more than likely a goner.
Strong for all of those I agree. Great night for CBS and great for Gotham too. Ouch at SoA.

Empire premieres massively. 3.7. Wow. Considering it was up against Modern Family and Blackish, that is incredibly impressive. Although Blackish took a tumble with a 2.1, and it normally gets higher than that so Blackish was obviously dented a bit. Empire has been one of my top shows I have been looking forward to, so i am very happy for it.

Wednesday earlies:

CBS:
The Mentalist- 8.99m (1.3)
Peoples Choice Awards- 8.57m (1.8)

ABC:
The Middle- 8.49m (2.3)
The Goldbergs- 7.79m (2.5)
Modern Family- 9.23m (3.2)
Blackish- 6.31m (2.1)

NBC:
The Mysteries of Laura- 6.77m (1.3)
Law and Order SVU- 7.78m (1.7)

FOX:
American Idol- 11.20m (3.2)
Empire- 9.90m (3.8)

That is incredible for Empire. Has a show ever climbed in demo following American Idol? I have a feeling it has never happened before... and by 6 tenths too! Brilliant for The Middle and The Goldvbergs too, decent for Modern Family... such a shame for Blackish though. I was hoping it'd be back to the mid 2s.

Weds earlies:

CBS:
The Big Bang Theory- 17.76m (4.5)
Mom- 12.29m (2.8)
Two and a Half Men- 10.03m (2.2)
The McCarthys- 7.94m (1.7)
Elementary- 8.42m (1.4)

ABC:
The Taste- 3.20m (0.9)

NBC:
The Biggest Loser- 5.00m (1.3)
Bad Judge- 3.12m (0.8)
A to Z- 2.02m (0.6)
Parenthood- 4.61m (1.4)

FOX:
American Idol- 11.02m (3.0)

The CW:
The House At The End Of The Street (FILM)- 1.27m (0.3)

Good return for Big Bang, back in the mid 4s now! Less of a retention for Mom, but if it sticks, it will be a series high. Good for Parenthood for more than doubling A to Z.

Dreadful return for Glee. Cristela saw an impressive rise to 1.3.

Glee's numbers look pretty poor (I mean, they are), but they actually achieved the same numbers as their season finale in May. For a show that switched to Friday, and retained all of it's audience over a 2 hour double episode, I'm going with the TVBTN assessment that it was a 'soft' opener rather than a disaster. They can't afford for those numbers to drop too much though.

Diaries, Supernatural, Jane, The 100, Reign, The Originals, The Flash and Arrow have all been renewed.

That leaves Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the beast DOA
Plus upcoming The Messengers and iZombie

If one of those midseason shows bomb, i think that could potentially save Beauty.

An impressive 1.6 demo for Last Man Standing, making it the second best rated programme of the night (after Shark Tank). I’m never sure if Last Man Standing will get renewed season to season, but with numbers like that its looking good.

Quite good for Hawaii Five O (1.5) and Blue Bloods too (1.4), although I still thing at least one of these will be cancelled by CBS this season, hard to say which, it might come down to production costs.

Can someone explain the late night ratings to me...

"In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:

•In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.7/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.1/5 with an encore.
•In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” 1.2/5; "Late Show," 0.4/1; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3 with an encore."

Are the late night shows really getting better demo ratings than the primetime programming? Or is this just becuase there's less people watching TV at that time of night which makes it easier to get a higher demo?

Wednesday final ratings:

CBS:
The Mentalist- 9.36m (1.4)
Criminal Minds- 10.35m (2.2)
Stalker- 7.87m (1.5)

ABC:
The Middle- 7.79m (2.2)
The Goldbergs- 7.22m (2.3)
Modern Family- 9.44m (3.0)
Blackish- 6.51m (1.9)

NBC:
Mysteries of Laura- 6.13m (1.0)
Law and Order SVU- 6.68m (1.4)
Chiacgo PD- 6.77m (1.5)

FOX:
American Idol- 10.87m (3.0)
Empire- 10.32m (4.0)

Holy effing at Empire! Monstrous rating! Climbing from last weeks launch and growing by a whole point from Idol! It's also damaging Blackish ratings... do they share a very similar audience?

Thursday earlies:

CBS:
The Big Bang Theory (r)- 12.06m (2.5)
Mom- 10.84m (2.4)
Two and a Half Men- 9.38m (2.1)
The McCarthys- 6.91m (1.5)
Elementary- 8.06m (1.3)

ABC:
The Taste- 3.27m (0.9)

NBC:
The Biggest Loser- 4.22m (1.1)
Bad Judge- 2.77m (0.7)
A To Z- 1.73m (0.5)
Parenthood- 4.08m (1.2)

FOX:
American Idol- 10.36m (2.6)

CW:
The World Dog Awards- 1.92m (0.4)

Mom still doing well following repeats of Big Bang. And NBC, awful ratings for the comedies, makes Parenthood look really good to grow 7 tenths.

The Blacklist on Thursday cannot come soon enough for NBC.

I wonder if CBS will stick with their plan to have Mom at 9.30pm when The Odd Couple debuts. I would personally have the Big Bang repeat at 9,30pm and have Big Bang/Odd Couple/Mom in that order

A 1.0 demo for Mysteries of Laura I'm thinking a season two is getting less and less likely. I don't want to get more invested in this show only for it to end after one season.

Galavant has bombed. 0.9 it earned last night. Maybe it was a good thing that ABC only gave it eight episodes and aired two episodes a week.

Shame, I think it's fun, but the scheduling killed it before it was ever shown.

Practically every comedy I like gets cancelled, the one's I don't carry on, ho-hum.

It's not the same with drama, so maybe I just don't get the US sense of humour

I don't think scheduling killed it at all. Especially as it's most recent episodes was all against reruns. I think it was always going to be either a flop or a modest hit.

There was a reason why every other network sensibly put on rerurns, that's because the second biggest game of the year was on. Scheduling killed what little chance it had.

Yay for Jane
After the recent renewal, I binge watched all 10 episodes yesterday and today, and It's a surprise beautiful little gem. It's in the same vein as Ugly betty without the fashion politics.

Tues earlies:

CBS:
State of The Union Live- 7.00m (1.3)

ABC:
State of The Union Live- 4.30m (1.1)

NBC:
Parks and Recreation- 4.08m (1.5)
Parks and Recreation- 3.63m (1.4)
State of the Union Live- 5.26m (1.5)

FOX:
Masterchef Jr- 5.42m (1.7)
State of the Union Live- 2.85m (0.9)

The CW:
The Flash- 3.73m (1.3)
Supernatural- 2.53m (1.0)

The CW has a good night! The Flash, despite being slightly down still gets a great rating for its return. Great for Supernatural too. Good for Parks also, they are probably thinking its a shame that this is the last season, as its doing better than all the other comedies on NBC.
