What happened to Grey's
It seems like the ratingss for Shonda's shows, since they have got back from the Christmas/New Year break, have been steadily falling. I don't watch Grey's, but Scandal has touched on the ridiculous a few times this season. Scanning the forum boards, there are a fair few viewers who think it has lost the plot lately. Even I was beginning to lose the will to watch it these days. Last night's episode was vintage Scandal, though. Whether that's a sign it is back to the good old days, only God knows.

What happened to Grey's
It's odd. A few weeks back when Greys, Scandal and Murder were all on, they were thrashing the competition. And as Scandal was doing a couple of tenths better than Murder, people thought that Scandal was the show holding the ABC lineup together. But since HTGAWM finished, Scandal has fell off a cliff, and Greys has plummeted too. So was Murder the show keeping the lineup consistently strong?

The break of 2 weeks between Feb and March harmed Scandal. Lets look at the last time Scandal aired when with Murder was Feb 19th...then as Scandal took a little break, Murder continued and finished its series.

But the ratings for 19th Feb had this...

Greys Anatomy with a 2.5 demo
Scandal with a 3.1 demo.
Murder with a 2.9 demo.

So since Murder finished, Greys has dropped 7 tenths and Scandal a whole ratings point? Very bizzare.

A meh start for American Odyssey

Just adds fire to the wreckage of NBC. Their remaining renewals and cancellations will be very interesting.

Basketball dents Following and Jane. While The Night Shift scores a respectable demo.

little-monster, surprised TND did just poorly on Monday compared to atrocious that it has been getting the last few weeks. So, it looks a tiny bit better for TNS.

Tuesday earlies:

CBS:
NCIS- 16.53m (2.1)
NCIS NO- 14.01m (1.6)
Person of Interest- 8.68m (1.3)

ABC:
Fresh off the Boat- 4.84m (1.4)
Fresh off the Boat (R)- 3.63m (1.0)
SHIELD- 4.19m (1.5)
Forever- 4.03m (0.9)

NBC:
The Voice- 10.90m (2.7)
Chicago Fire- 8.50m (2.0)

FOX:
Hells Kitchen- 3.47m (1.2)
New Girl- 2.18m (0.9)
Weird Loners- 1.72m (0.7)

CW:
The Flash (R)- 1.52m (0.5)
iZombie- 1.83m (0.7)

Real mixed bag. Awful for New Girl, series low. It's in such a bad way at the moment. Shame about Forever too

Great to see a rise for FOTB! And the repeat beat last weeks Repeat After Me which is quite funny to see! Great for iZombie, it kept its 0.7 even with no new Flash episode. Good going! Great for Chicago Fire too!

If TNS keeps it up, it should be renewed.

CSI Cyber- 8.25m (1.5)

ABC:
The Middle- 7.28m (1.9)
The Goldbergs- 6.54m (2.0)
Modern Family (R)- 5.86m (1.7)
Blackish- 6.09m (1.9)
Nashville- 4.61m (1.1)

NBC:
The Voice- 9.64m (2.2)
Law and Order- 7.31m (1.8)

OUCH at Idol. Big drop for The Voice as it aired out of its usual slot. Blackish did well considering no MF lead in. Fantastic for Survivor! 2.5 for a 15 year old show!!

Blackish has seen quite a drop since the new year. It was earning close to 3.0 last year but has lost quite a bit of it's demo's. Of course it's no where near the danger zone but just something I have noticed.

Excluding the first 2 eps, it has generally gotten in the mid 2s from Episode 3 onwards, and Weds was behind a repeat. The week before it got a 2.4 so it has been as consistent as ever. It has constantly been between 2.1-2.5.

Thurs earlies:

CBS:
The Big Bang Theory- 14.64m (3.4)
The Odd Couple- 9.91m (2.1)
Mom- 9.21m (2.0)
Elementary- 6.94m (1.2)

ABC:
Greys Anatomy- 7.33m (2.1)
American Crime- 4.42m (0.9)

NBC:
Dateline- 5.27m (1.2)

FOX:
Bones- 5.00m (1.0)
Backstrom- 3.38m (0.8)

Seriously, they need to stop moving Mom. Despite the moves, it's still extremely resilient and refuses to go under 2.0. TOC is not working after TBBT, it'd be dead if it moved to where Mom is or another slot and be getting the low 1s. CBS has tried to test Mom too much and it keeps proving that it was doing better after Big Bang than TOC and The Millers. Mom is a HIT, so stop trying to move it CBS! TBBT is down quite a bit.

American Crime... haha, compare that to Murder in the same slot and time which was constantly getting high 2s.

Is anyone watching American Crime? Is it any good? I tried watching the pilot episode but I wasn't in the right frame of mind to do it any justice. Coming in at 0.9 it doesn't seem to be worth it

I have avoided American Crime purely because I am sick of these shows where a whole season is based on one crime. All been done a million times. Plus considering how bad it has done, I have an even better excuse to avoid it.

Thanks for the correction on Blackish Salv

I know what you mean. I'm not sure I want to sit through a whole show that's all about figuring out whodunit .either I don't know if it's been re-commissioned for a 2nd season. If it has, I might give it a stab. But I'll have to be truly bored out of my mind to watch.

Another what's with all these shows prefixed with the word 'American' in it lately, lol? American Crime; American Odyssey; American Horror Story. Or even The Americans. Makes Americans sound like a bunch of aliens at this rate

It has not been given a second season and based on the ratings, I highly doubt it will.

Is there a reason they played the Grey's pilot at 8pm on Thursday and pushed the new episode back to 9pm?

Hallmark has renewed The Good Witch for a second season

There is word going around that Revenge has been cancelled and the final episode which recently finished filming will serve as a series finale. But apparently ABC refuse to confirm anything until upfronts.

I reckon it's done. Apparently after the last ep they emphasised on the 'final 4 episodes'. That's how they found out HTGAWM was renewed because at the end of the series they said 'next year on...', however ABC never officially announced it but it was obvious.

I think broadcast TV overall has gone through regular nosedives in the past few years and this is probably just the latest one (inclusive of far more than just Shonda's shows).

Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and the other on-demand platforms are the ones gaining viewership--although not at a matching rate to what broadcast TV is losing. Cable TV is about holding even I think.

Tuesday finals:

CBS:
NCIS- 15.84M (2.0)
NCIS LA- 14.40m (1.8)
Person of Interest- 9.21m (1.5)

ABC:
Fresh off The Boat- 4.76m (1.5)
Repeat After Me- 3.09m (1.0)
SHIELD- 4.04m (1.6)

NBC:
The Voice- 10.69m (2.5)
Undateable- 5.10m (1.5)
One Big Happy- 3.57m (1.1)

FOX:
Hells Kitchen- 3.63m (1.3)
Weird Loners- 1.39m (0.6)

CW:
The Flash- 3.67m (1.4)
iZombie- 1.85m (0.8)

Great night for The CW. The Flash looks as healthy as ever. FOTB and Undateable are sure renewals to be honest! 60% retention out of The Voice for Undateable is better than what most gets after it!

Wednesday earlies:

CBS:
Survivor- 9.44m (2.2)
Criminal Minds- 10.20m (2.0)
CSI Cyber- 8.09m (1.5)

ABC:
The Middle- 7.44m (1.9)
The Goldbergs- 6.85m (2.1)
Modern Family (R)- 5.96m (1.8)
The Goldbergs- 5.69m (1.9)
Nashville- 4.60m (1.2)

NBC- All repeats

FOX:
American Idol- 7.49m (1.4)

CW:
Arrow- 2.41m (0.9)
Supernatural- 1.83m (0.7)

Better for The CW shows. Looks like a great week for the CW. OK, The Originals and JTV got a .4 which isn't great but the Top 4 are The Flash with 1.4, Arrow at .9 (hoping it goes up to a 1.0!, Izombie at .8 and SPN at .7. Four shows above .7 is decent for The CW.

Hmm, remember when Idol used to get 30m viewers ABC stable as always, TG did exactly the same as Blackish did after a MF repeat with 1.9, so TG and Blackish both have a solid fanbase.

NBC seem to be doing well with Undateable. It's the only successful comedy they have. Not bad for a show that was originally a summer show.

I think the casting of Bridget Mendler has helped. She did two sitcoms on Disney, a few films for them and has released an album. So she has quite a following.

I might give the show another go during the summer. I didn't think much to it originally.

Cristela ends it's season, while The Messengers debuts.

I'll be shocked if either are back next season. Cristela has performed below average for Friday's ratings while I think The Messengers was doomed from the start due to it's friday placing, Cw renewing nearly everything and the fact it's a plot that has been done to death.
