Doesn't this mean they'll all suffer since they're competing for the same viewers?

7 shows on Monday for me, though methinks Friday still wins with Z-Nation.

FOX have given The Guide to Surviving Life an extra seven episodes. The show was originally given a six episode order set for midseason.

Fresh Off The Boat, NCIS and NCIS: NO return tonight

Scream Queens, Limitless and The Muppets make their debuts.

Looks like Minority report could be the first casualty of the season already. Blindspot debuts big. Lowish returns for Castle and NCIS:LA. Good return for scorpion. Average return for Gotham.

Out of the small amount of pilots that leaked over the summer, MP was actually my fav. Eeek.

That is awful for Minority Report - could be off the air within weeks.

Good for Blindspot - of course aided by a lead in from The Voice.

Not great for Gotham, if it declines like it did last season it will be over.

For some reason I thought Scream Queens didn't start for another for weeks.. Really excited for this show. Hope it rates well.

Looks like NCIS:LA is going to struggle again this season going up against Blindspot on NBC, in the same way it struggled last season going up against The Blacklist on CBS. I know NCIS:LA is part of a internationally known successful franchise, and is a CBS production, but premiering with 1.2 is going to be of concern.

A good night for NBC all round really. And interesting to see that The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon is now comfortably beating The Late Show with Stephen Colbert... that didn’t take very long!

Early news
Quote:
“Particularly troubling about the performance was the significant level of tune-out from start-to-finish. After opening with a 3.5 household rating in the 8-8:30PM slot, “Scream Queens” slipped to a 3.0 in the 8:30-9PM window, a 2.7 in the 9-9:30PM slot, and a 2.5 for the final half hour.”

Ouch. It seems Scream queens lost a fair share of it's audience within those two hours

I really liked it. It's very funny, a bit camp and slightly bonkers. It won't appeal entirely to those who like American Horror Story.

Average start for Scream queens. Average start for Limitless. High numbers or The Muppets. Strong return for Fresh off the boat. Average returns for NCIS and NCIS NO.

I and i can imagine FOX expected much higher for Scream queens. It has been hyped to the max since before a pilot was even filmed. It even got an early pick up, has had a big marketing campaign, especially online and was presented as a big event at a few of the summer conventions.

Disappointed with Scream Queens With the hype and media attention it has received over the last few months, I expected it to do a lot better than that.

How To Get Away With Murder, Scandal and Grey's Anatomy return tonight
Heroes makes a comeback, while new show The Player debuts

Very tough to put Heroes and a new show against Shondaland shows as they essentially ruled thursday nights last season.

And ‘Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris’ went up from last week’s 1.9 to 2.2 (beating the premier of Limitless on CBS) – I know it’s benefitted from strong lead-ins on both occasions (AGT and The Voice) but I wasn’t expecting that. Not that I particularly like/dislike the programme, I just had a feeling it’s ratings would drop week on week.

I think The Muppets will drop next week. Reviews have been scathing and general chatter suggests viewers won't return in the same numbers next week.

I think most people were expecting the old Muppets Show style instead of this Office style mockumentary.

And was hoping for sketches and guests who do a performance.

I watched Blindspot and thought it was interesting, so I will be back for the 2nd episode. Great debut too. Not great for Minority Report at all.

With Tuesday ratings, that's poor for Scream Queens IMO, so much hype wasn't there? I expected it at least a whole demo point above what it got (between 2.7-3.0).

Not bad for FOTB which I loved in S1. watched the first episode of S2 and laughed throughout. Seriously underrated show which should be doing more and should be at least in the mid 2s.

Weds prem ratings:

CBS:
Survivor- 9.61m (2.4)
Big Brother- 6.49m (2.2)

ABC:
The Middle- 8.16m (2.1)
The Goldbergs- 7.60m (2.4)
Modern Family- 9.26m (3.1)
Blackish- 7.30m (2.4)
Nashville- 5.00m (1.3)

NBC:
Mysteries of Laura- 6.90m (1.2)
Law and Order SVU- 8.20m (1.7)

FOX:
Rosewood- 7.36m (2.4)
Empire- 16.02m (6.5)

CW:
Next Top Model- 1.36m (0.4)
A Wicked Offer- 0.52m (0.2)

Jesus, Empire returning incredibly, not surprise! Even Rosewood benefitted debuting well as it was before it. I'm sure a lot of that will drop next week.

Solid as ever for ABC comedies. The Middle and Goldbergs so strong and consistent as is Blackish. MF ageing well.

NBC... why have they still got MOL?
little-monster
24-09-2015
Amazing for Empire but that's considerably down compared to where the last few episodes of Season 1 earned. The finale hitting the 10's.

As for MOL, NBC had a such an awful year that they needed to admit defeat and a renew a few of their lowest rated shows. But NBC have only given it 13 episodes so my guess is, NBC don't want to waste money on a full season again and will cancel it if those 13 episodes fail to perform.

Both Big Brother and Survivor down on their respective episodes last season, though I guess a bit of a dip is to be expected given they each clashed with Empire for 30 minutes.
