Commercial stations in the UK rate by social class.

The primary broadcaster in the UK is the BBC which is licence-funded so ratings are irrelevant to them.

With FOX taking a different approach to ratings, this may mean renewals for low rated shows like Scream Queens, The Grinder and Grandfathered.

It's not just because many Fox shows are doing extremely poorly in the Live+SD ratings then?
. Yeah, could be that or they are that desperate to renewal shows because as it is they will have nothing to air (except a lot of white noise).

Well apart from Rosewood, none of FOX's new shows have done well at all.
I wonder how Lucifer, Second Chance, Cooper Barrett, Bordertown and The X Files will do. Surely The X Files won't be earning 0.9 and 1.1. Hopefully it should be hitting 2.0. Sleepy Hollow has to be a goner. It's no where near syndication numbers and it's their lowest rated show next to MR. The fact that it has been dumped on Friday's next year is a sign of a Dead Show Walking. Bones will most likely limp to a 12th season, which will make it FOX's longest running scripted show and will have beaten Married With Children. It already has the honour of being their longest running drama. |

This is very interesting. I hope other networks don't follow suit (which is unlikely IMO) but it is the 21st century and as mentioned on this thread the US rating system is outdated now and needs to be assessed in other ways as well. |

I think all the ratings should be combined into one big ratings. So the live ratings and then the DVR are all put together.

This is very interesting. So when will we see FOX ratings now, 7 days later? I’ll be amazed if this doesn’t make FOX shows look a lot more successful, so I’ll be surprised if other networks don’t do likewise very soon. Of course it’ll benefit some networks more than others, which brings me on to... Quote:

Minus football and the AMA's, The Simpsons won the night with a ratings rise.

Dancing With The Stars is the standout performer there for me. The Voice leafs in.the youth demo but DWTS was written off for years for skewing old, now it's neck & neck with The Voice.
ABC must be happy with Dancing with the Stars performance this season as I believe it’s the first one without Len Goodman, who acted as head judge, so there was a risk that the change could damage the ratings – but clearly not. And as ABC air two seasons of the programme a year (unlike just one in the UK), it’s back for another season in March. |

I don't think cable channels are too concerned with overnights as they depend on repeats for much of their viewership.

I think thats pretty good for Chicago Med personally, it was never gonna keep that premiere number (what show does) and considering it had a lot smaller Voice lead in this week, 2.1 as opposed to 2.6 last week so actually had better retention this week
I think all in all a 1.8 is a perfectlly acceptable number |
