Empire falls to a series low. Code Black scores best demo since pilot.

Empire has the look of a one season wonder doesn't it?

For me personally, it seems that way. Season 2 has been a victim of the sophomore slump. I haven't enjoyed it all.

The Chicago shows are doing so well on Tuesday. That Voice retention!

Half hours:

The Voice- 2.0/2.2
Chicago Med- 1.8/1.8
Chicago Fire- 1.8/1.8

So impressive.

As for last night, oh Empire... could it be a Glee mark 2?

I would not draw too many conclusions from Empire's poor rating. The night before Thanksgiving is a notorious deadzone for American TV. I'm actually shocked that they chose to air a first-run episode rather than a repeat.

I know you can't go by one lowish night as it was thanksgiving after all but it will be interesting to see. Sometimes too much success in a show's early days can be fatal. Glee being a prime example.

Me too. NBC and ABC resorted to airing reruns of their late night shows in the 10pm slot (NBC - Saturday Night Live, and ABC - Jimmy Kimmel Live!), which might explain why Code Black did well - it had no real competition!

So it could be a fluke for Code Black then?

Maybe fluke is a bit strong, but it certainly had no competition.

Superstore's double episode sneek previews premieres really well. Gotham and Supergirl both rise.

CEG adjusted down to 0.3
Superstore scored a 2.0 for episode 1 and a 1.6 for episode 2

The Walking Dead - 13.98 million
Into The Badlands - 5.17 million
The Librarians - 2.02 million
Homeland - 1.42 million
The Leftovers - 886k
The Affair - 920k (season high and second highest rated episode ever)
Agent X - 980K
The Royals - 530k
Getting On - 320k (season high)

The Royals is bombing this season. My only guess is that is being affected by The Affair, as Season 1 aired early this year with little competition.

Major Crimes - 3.68 million
Fargo - 1.32 million
Legends - 720k

Tuesday early ratings:

CBS- All repeats

ABC:
The Muppets- 3.78m (1.1)
Fresh off the Boat- 3.65m (1.2)
SHIELD- 3.82m (1.3)

NBC:
The Voice- 11.98m (2.6)
Chicago Med- 9.77m (2.0)
Chicago Fire- 8.47m (1.9)

FOX:
Grandfathered- 3.10m (0.9)
The Grinder- 2.41m (0.7)
Scream Queens- 2.40m (0.9)

The CW:
The Flash- 3.86m (1.4)
iZombie- 1.58m (0.6)

Really surprised that The Flash didn't get at least a 1.5 for it's crossover. It may AU though. Arrow may be at around 1.2 tonight in that case. Why FOTB are you doing this? Great for the climb for both Med and Fire! Chicago shows are just quite unstoppable.

Just to note, despite a repeat, Rudolph was actually the highest non Voice demo show with a 2.3 and 9.01m.

Chicago Med rises. The Muppets and FOTB falls.

It was just like an American version of 'Trollied'. Pretty bad IMO.

FOTB adjusted up to 1.3

Good that FOTB adjusted up and that the Chicago shows held! Med is up 67% on what AAB/Marry Me was doing last year and Fire is up 2 tenths year on year.

Wednesday earlies:

CBS:
Survivor- 9.39m (2.1)
Criminal Minds- 8.68m (1.5)
Code Black- 7.98m (1.5)

ABC:
The Middle- 7.76m (2.1)
The Goldbergs- 6.50m (2.0)
Modern Family- 7.37m (2.4)
Blackish- 5.51m (1.7)
Nashville- 4.15m (0.9)

NBC (ALL repeats):
Christmas in Rockfeller Centre- 7.98m (1.4)
How The Grinch Stole Christmas- 5.57m (1.5)
Saturday Night Live- 4.63m (1.4) and 4.28m (1.4)

FOX:
Rosewood- 5.03m (1.4)
Empire- 11.54m (4.4)

The CW:
Arrow- 3.58m (1.3)
Supernatural- 2.13m (0.9)

These are the strangest bunch of numbers I have seen. Code Black at 1.5? Where are these surges coming from? MF falling but The Middle is now so close to it , beat it by viewers and beat Goldbergs in demo

Arrow did brilliantly, hope it adjusts to a 1.4, would be fantastic. Empire is up from the low of 3.2 to add 1.2 to get 4.4 this week!

I predict a lot of adjustments in the finals!

I hope the writers on Nashville get a hint to write up a series finale like the writers did on Revenge. ABC never bothered to cancel Revenge until production wrapped but the writers were smart enough to still write and film a proper ending.

I have noticed Modern Family has dropped this season. It used to be in the 3's. But then it is in it's seventh season so it's a normal drop. Unless people finally getting the hint it's boring and unfunny now? I dropped it last season.

Code Black's recent surge has been a massive surprise. In fact, this episode is a series high. The pilot and last week's episode both managed a 1.4.

I would expect a full season order for Chicago Med soon. Or maybe an extra six or seven. All depends if NBC can schedule in 22 episodes of Chicago Med as it did premiere later in the season. Either way, it's been a second success story for NBC this season.
