Expected drops for Lucifer and XF but still great. Supergirl hits a series low.

New Girl rises. The Muppets bombs on it's return. Nice return for FOTB

Thats got to be the final nail in The Muppets coffin, 0.8 when the flip between FOTB and itself was supposed to help it.

The Grinder is surely a goner as well, I know Fox have taken the decision to not take notice of overnight ratings (or so they say anyway) but an 0.6 is terrible anyway you spin it

Grandfathered will be back I think, its pretty steady at that 1.0

Glad to see X Files and Lucifer doing well. Lucifer at 2.0 which is brilliant for FOX, but may drop to the mid 1s when Gotham is it's lead in.

Tuesday early ratings:

CBS:
Superbowl Commercials 2016- 11.21m (2.0), 11.57m (2.1)

ABC:
Fresh Off The Boat- 5.20m (1.4)
The Muppets- 2.73m (0.8)
Agent Carter- 2.79m (0.8)
What Would You Do?- 2.31m (0.7)

NBC:
Hollywood Game Night- 4.32m (1.1)
Chicago Med- 7.65m (1.6)
Chicago Fire- 8.20m (1.8)

FOX:
New Girl- 2.98m (1.4)
Grandfathered- 2.57m (1.0)
Brooklyn Nine Nine- 2.22m (1.0)
The Grinder- 1.65m (0.6)

CW:
The Flash- 3.67m (1.4)
iZombie- 1.46m (0.6)

Great as usual for The Flash. I hoped FOTB could have gotten at least a 1.5. Great for the Chicago's, especially Fire. Surprised how well the commercial show on CBS did.

Ouch at The Muppets and Agent Carter.

This hasn't been a strong season for ABC at the moment

Long-timers Nashville and Castle are not doing good
Agent Carter, Galavant and American Crime have all done poor in their second seasons.
Wicked City and Blood and Oil were flops
The Muppets started strong but lost it's audience each week. Even a change in EP and direction has made zero difference
Only Quantico has done well but that only manages a modest 1.2/1.3

The Catch
The Real O'Neals
The Family
Of Kings and Prophets
Uncle Buck

are still yet to premiere, I wonder how they will do. ABC need some new blood to actually do well.

American Crime Story - 5.11 million viewers
The Shannara Chronicles - 970k
Shadowhunters - 960k
The Expanse (double episode season finale) - 560k

Syfy were too quick in renewing The Expanse. It's a ratings flop.

That's debatable. It may be a ratings flop but it's been a critical success, something Syfy has been woefully short of in recent years.

Also I don't think first showings are as important to cable stations as they are to network TV as shows are repeated many times over in a single week.

Is March 28 some kind of sweeps for ratings purposes in the US?

Just wondering as that is the date for the Supergirl/Flash crossover episode, presumably designed to try to give Supergirl a few extra viewers from Flash fans.

Do they still have 'sweeps' weeks in the US?

Yes they do. But no, that date isn't in them.

I wonder how the Super Bowl will rate. What's odd is that is there no scripted show following it like their usually is? I'm surprised. It's a chat show that gets the golden slot isn't it?

I wished something like Superstore or Supergirl would have been put there.

Isn't Superstore on the wrong network?

What the last show to get a long term boost out of the Superbowl? Yes, it has an impact on the night itself but shows soon fall back to a much lower level. I'm not even sure whether CBS have anything to push at the moment - in the run up to the Superbowl they seem to have aired a load of repeats and a compilation show on commercials. Yes, the comedies continued as normal on Thursday but other than that...

Any idea how CBS’s post Super Bowl programming rated – The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show with James Corden?
