I think she'll have a similar trajectory to Janet on the show actually.
She'll probably do well in the voting early on, placing in the top few every week, then as the numbers start to whittle, her fanbase will remain the same size while others grow, and she'll then go out a few weeks from the end, a respectable fourth or fifth or something. |

Like Janet, Abi has limited vocal range, so yes.

Abi may not be the the biggest singer but in terms of the live finalists this year she is a breath of fresh air. She's very likeable also which should get her far.

Janet's lack of performance skills is what finally did her in.
Seems strange to assume that because they have a similar style of singing that it means that Abi will also forget her words. For the moment Abi's performance skills seem strong, but who knows, she may have a bigger barrier to climb. Or she may be the one to suffer the dreaded 'throat problems' and miss a show. |

Abi has a lot more experience at this stage than Janet did, so I expect her to handle it better.
Love Janet, though. Her debut album has some very nice songs on it. |

Their styles and choices may be similar, what that has to do with the likelihood of Abi forgetting her words I don't know.

I think Abi will be very popular with public and her singing always gives me goosebumps...However she will go down the Janet path being accused of being one trick pony (hell it's already been banded about by Nicole), they will give her s***ty songs that don't suit and start to crucify her for being the same, isn't versatile etc.. etc.. until they boot her out half way through.
thing is people don't always want different singing styles by a person or group as how they sound is the reason they like the 1st place, who cares if they can't carry off "rock week"?? I really shudder for Abi on some of the cliche themes they will make her do. I just hope she uses it as a platform like Lucy did last year and make the most of he her time on there |

Abi's the gamma girl though...whereas Janet got lots of pimping Abi's got barely any - even her JH performance was cut in the middle portion to hear her speak. Hannah and Tamara have had lots more pimping.
I can see her going one of two ways either the Janet Devlin road as people might say, or the Jade Ellis/Sophie Habibis route - basically fodder due to the difference in screen time and pimping between her and Janet. I hope it's the first - because she's one of the few bearable acts left in the competition (get rid of Kingsland!). |

They will probably try to make out like Abi doesn't have enough confidence and self-belief, when she's already toured around with James Arthur. It's like Louis saying to Paul that he doesn't have enough confidence when he performed brilliantly in the arena, no nerves showing at all. Just because he's not a pushy asshole like Shelley.
And yes, people will start to hate Abi. |

AM I the only one who doesn't get Abi? Sounds like a 12 year old singing. To me, she is far less talented than those in the seats before hand - maybe I am being ignorant in my view - but could not believe she got through.

I do usually like singers like Abi, but so far I just don't think she's that great. Saying that though, I do think she seems really sweet, and I can't help but hope she comes out and impresses me. |

Janet's pimping was only up to week 2, after that the show went full throttle to prevent her winning. |

She's the new Janet with a hint of Lucy Saggin' in that she's seen as kooky and quirky.

I found her voice very difficult to listen to, but I can't judge her on the show as there is a lot of other things going on that the public are never aware of such as when the show admitted "modifying" Little Mix's voices to help their voices. Abi's image & vocal is very different on her FB & YT. |

She seems much more mature and confident on videos I've seen on line. It's as if this simpering persona is something invented for the show. I hope she throws it away now.
