Well, if you want to hammer another nail in the coffin of a dying show then inviting Ms Cole back for another round of "judging," would be one way of going about it..

But then, she might be desperate enough..

And at least, unlike Osbourne, she has some experience of what it's like to be in the same situation as the contestants..

The only thing is, they'd all be far better singers than she ever was, of could ever hope to be, so "mentoring," them would continue to be as redundant as it ever was.

God knows why Osbourne was asked to come back, she's beyond useless.

Personality.

Hope to see more fire from her on the lives though. Wonder how long it will be before Gary calls one of her acts, "cabaret".

Being a one time contestant doesn't really bring that much to the table in being a judge/mentor if you ask me. Yes such people can empathise with what contestants are going through, but so can judges like Sharon who haven't been a contestant, yet have decades of managerial experience.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Cheryl back, and would watch just for her, but she's a newbie compared to a veteran like Sharon.

That's why I said "at least." and that's being generous..

I think Cheryl.....Miss Autotune herself....Cole would be even more of a retrograde step than Mrs O...

I, for one, could do without her "incisive," "musical," assessments of performances such as "You totally smashed it."
And, she's in no position to give anyone any advice on how to sing.

Maybe they should go the whole hog and invite back the original judging panel..and then we'd have Ms Minogue and her musical prowess back in the fold.
Actually, I think Danni was possibly the only one among the original mob who focused on the singing..

Or, they could do something really radical and invite 4 judges onto the panel with a really tried, tested and demonstrable musical pedigree and I wouldn't put Ms Cole in that category..

One thing I think "The Voice," has going for it, is that, at least two of them, I'd rate as seriously talented musicians..who can/have walked the walk and are therefore qualified to talk the talk and could stand on stage alongside their charges and deliver the obligatory duet, if need be.

Would Cheryl and Nicole get along? they're both very pretty but they could get along possibly like they have different personalities and if Simon returns.
I'm glad Sharons going after she sent home two of the best acts in the overs.

Quite, clueless..and a complete continuation of what we got when she was a regular on the show..

I can't wait for her song choices..

As for Ms Cole and Nicole being "pretty," yep, they both are, very much so, but I think I want more out the judges than people being easy on the eye..

I don't mind if they dont get on with each other, so long as they have something constructive to say..and that they're capable of looking after their charges..

I actually like Sharon's comments she gives when she's on the panel but picking the right contestants not so much a good judge at that. I still don't understand how she thinks Shelley will get the votes I'm thinking she wanted her for the entertainment side of things in her perspective.

Originally, way back in series one, I thought so too, though even then, her choice of song was more than a little dubious..

But it got quite personal between her and Steve Brookstein and she said some pretty pointless things to him and when she came out with the ridiculous comment about him not being able to sing "soul," because he "wasn't black," I realized that she's not the sort of person I could admire, or take seriously as a judge.

Cheryl returning would be very much on her own terms, and part of that would be to not have Nicole there. Cheryl doesn't like her, even before the whole X Factor USA thing.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the same panel again next year and this is just to bag herself a payrise, but then again I wouldn't be surprised to see next years panel being Louis, Simon, Cheryl and either Mel B or Kelly Rowland in the fourth spot (assuming X Factor USA is axed).

Sharon is FABULOUS!! It's a shame that she is only here for one season

It'd be a bad decision to lose Nicole she is really entertaining and a great judge. I love Cheryl but I also love Nicole . Simon should keep Nicole there she's good. I don't know if Cheryl would come back since she's put X Factor behind her but I guess if she wants to promote her music she'd join again. I reckon Simon will try and get Rita Ora instead.

I would expect Jessie J to replace her.

I totally agree with you here. People obviously want Cheryl back but I think Simon will move in another direction and put a fresh new face there instead and Jessie does fit the bill nicely (I'm not a fan of Jessie but she is a good candidate)

Without a doubt thats Cheryl back in place of Mrs O ! Could even be the return of Simon as well if Gary is going to concentrate on touring next year if thats to be believed.

The end of Girls Aloud, the end of any realistic hope of a solo success career, and now the confirmed end of the relationship with the dancer boyfriend means she is free and ready to get herself back a profile !!!

There's only so much advertising for L'Oreal you can do, and rumour has it they are not happy at all with her body art work, considering the promote natural products for the skin. She needs to resurrect a BIG public profile to even retain the L'Oreal connection !. What better way than the big return to the panel.

Why would X Factor want her back?

I was hoping that if Simon was to come back then Sharon and Louis would stay on for another year and we could have the Simon/Sharon/Louis panel for a year.

IF Simon does come back, I'd put money on Cheryl returning also. Wouldn't be surprised if Nicole was let go and they threw everything into getting Dannii back also. Didn't that article recently about Cheryl changing management mention that a return to XF was part of the plan? Bower talked a lot in Cowell's bio that it was the will.i.am management team that didn't want her to go back, rather than her.

Why did she bother coming back if she can't commit?

This is one of the problems with X Factor now and why they are lower than Strictly. People who just aren't committed to the show. Bring back Simon, Cheryl and Danni.

Golden era X Factor for sure, I'd even allow Louis back with those three.

If its true then it does suggest that its not about her committing, but by signing a one series deal and openly saying there is no chance of a second series, shes clearly just a placeholder for someone else. Otherwise they would've got Jessie J or whoever (I couldn't see that though, she was a flop on The Voice).

I genuinely think a Danni, Simon, Cheryl and Louis panel is possible...
