Does anyone have a recipe for a cherry cake using fresh cherries (not glace). I've trawled the internet and can only find recipes using glace cherries. Thanks.

Can't you just substitue the glace cherries for fresh and follow the same recipe?

I should think you can only make a pie, an upside-down cake or a crumble with fresh cherries. Fresh fruit in a cake would spoil.

Not at all. Think of blueberry muffins, banana bread etc. It won't spoil, but the problem with using fresh soft fruits like cherries is that they tend to let out a lot of juice, so you get a soggy cake that won't rise well.
