Hi
Can anyone help? my friend has a Samsung tablet and she keeps getting an error message saying "network connection not available" despite her modem being switched on and she's ordered a book from amazon that hasn't appeared (obv because she's not got connection) any ideas? she's in her mid-60's and not tech savvy and I have to sort stuff out for her but I wasn't sure where to start looking...

Well is she using encryption on the tablet and router? (WPA for example)

One of the easiest thing sto try is to switch the router off and on again and let it reboot and then try to let the tablet connnect.

I've had this a couple of times where one or two devices might connect but others don't. I find a reboot of the router often fixes it.

Another option would be for her to go into the wifi settings on the tablet and select the connection she's using and press on it a box will pop up offering the option of 'forget'

Once that's done she should be able to see her router and try to connect by entering her password.

If that doesn't work, has she ever tried connecting the tablet to another wifi network (such as a public one) just to confirm there's nothing wrong with the tablet.

turning the router off, leaving it for 10 seconds, and turning it back on could work
