Who else is getting frustrated by the obligatory boy band every year?

I at least thought it would be Next of Kin but it turned out to be children again who have received less pimping and sound a lot worse than 1D, UJ and JLS. Horrible really how we HAVE to one in EVERY series since 2009 (or I think 2009 was the only year when they didn't have one?).

They're going to get through over more deserving acts every week, I'm sure of it.

I want Next of Kin back. Or at least a wildcard - Joseph/Mel/Paul to come back! Can't believe these kids have been given a place over more deserving contestants.

Kingsland Road are like Nu Vibe/The Risk: don't mind them because they'll be gone before you know it.

Also, that group you're clamoring for? Won't last any longer anyway

I quite like Rough Copy, what I've seen so far anyway. I'm not too sold on Kingsland Road yet, but I imagine its what the producers think the younger demographic will want to see and vote for. I failed to see the appeal of Next Of Kin, despite buying their single when I was about 9

Me too. I look forward to seeing more of them.

They have similar castings all round though, it's not just the boyband thing. You usually get a middle age woman with an ordinary job with a big voice (who usually makes it to fourth place haha), a novelty act, and then there are the divas, the 'quirky' teenage girls, the balladeer boys etc etc. Even the judging panel has been similar since they introduced a fourth judge.

I hope Britain votes less predictably this time.

Kingsland are very obligatory and generic.- you see these kind of bands day in day out.

Rough Copy - this is a tough one - they are a typical R+B boyband but UK never had many male R+B bands (let's exclude JLS who are a bit commercialised) over the 30 years I remember (they were 100s of them in America in that time period, of course). Only 4 UK R+B male bands (2 from the 90s: Damage and MN8; 2 from the 80s: Imagination and Total Contrast - unless I forgot about anybody else) had some sort of moderate success in the UK charts although Imagination did a bit better than the rest. This is an area that is yet to be explored properly.

EDIT: I forgot about Another Level (they were crap anyway)

Kingsland look like sales assistants at Topman, they'll be gone by week two.
