Ellie has confirmed on her official website that she will perform her hit single Burn on Sunday's result show.

Thought that song was a few months old, why is she singing it when she could do some new material?

The lovely Ellie, and a local girl from my home county.

Seems random that she'd sing a song that has been out for a long time already, but she seems to be a favourite for ITV guest slots these days, so I'm sure she'll get plenty more chances to do new stuff in the new year!

Looking forward to her anyway!

Well its a bit early to perform her new single How Long Will I Love You as that's the Children In Need Single this year and isnt out for another month.

So perform to perform your massive #1 single is a better idea.

Once again the X Factor shows is how out of date and irrelevant it is. No wonder a"belt it out" wannabe R&B diva is the favourite. That singing style's been been over for longer than Burn.

They should have got Lorde to sing Royal or the guy who does Same Love.

Jeez Louise. What a pile of crap!

It happened last year with Fun. Their new single was Some Nights but they performed We Are Young

I think it's embarrassing for everyone involved that they can be so far off the pace. It alsoo reflects badly on the contestants because they are being selected on a show which is just not with it.

Yey I'm literally addicted to this song.

I would love to see Lorde perform Royals or Ariana perform The Way as she is in the UK this week. A missed opportunity really.

It's like a selection made by your dad. He's tried but it's just not quite right. You're torn between saying "Ah bless" and "Ah bugger".

I suppose it could have been worse. Miley Cyrus might be doing we can't stop and twerking on Gary and Louis.

Ariana Grande is completely unheard of in the UK. 99% of the time they only book big names.

But if they really want to be considered leading edge they should be putting new stuff out there, at least new songs by established artists, not something you can hear 10 times a day on 4Music. That is a wasted opportunity.

hasn't this song been out about 8 months?

...which was released over a year ago.

Why does it have to be a "brand new song"? It is 2 months old which will be the newer than any song the X Factor finalists perform throghout the whole series by some distance.

Ellie Goulding on the X Factor. Should be interesting. What are all the "Abi is rubbish cos she has a little voice and can't belt out big numbers" fans going to say?

I love that song. My friends housemate said she's really very good live.

She is horrible live. Warbling, out of tune.
