Louis confirmed on Daybreak that there is no wildcard this series. He also confirmed that the REAL Cher not Cher Lloyd is performing on Sunday

Is this verbatim? If so, I'd LOVE to see a clip.

Thank goodness for that. At least one part of the farce is out of the way.

Could that part of the farce has anything to do with a special M that touches and melts your heart
I think wildcards is a bit of a farce anyway tbh and hope they stick to the 12 they have now

You mightn't be saying that by week 3 or 4.....wouldn't be the first year a supposedly promising set of finalists has turned out to be mediocre

Well that could happen but at least my fav lot are there (Tamera, Hannah, Rough Copy, Miss Dynamix .Lorna, Sam)
Maybe mediocre to some people and maybe I will find certain acts that others will like very mediocre too.
It is a real shame that some acts didn't get through but it's time to move on
BUT.........wildcards could still be possible so hold on to your seats folks!!

You are only saying this as you're precious Melanie is out of the competition .

No....it's mainly because I think it's a very poor final 12 this year and will be shown to be such in coming weeks.

From what i have read of what Louis said was " This year the Judges have no option for a Wildcard " , Which really leaves the producers plenty of Wriggle room , if things are going pear shaped and they want to introduce the wildcard chosen by the public or in another form . They may intoduce something that is essentially a wildcard but call it something else

You can't really say that for sure - obviously it is poor to you coz maybe a lot of the finalists don't appeal to you which is fine...but it appeals to me...and for me it's been a while since we had a decent line up going back to Alex's year in 2008 - again it is down to preferences

I also think it's a weak line up, and not just because Melanie is out.

Andrea, Zoe, Brick City, Xyra, Melanie, Jade and Paul were all much stronger than the majority that got through.

Of course, it shouldn't need pointing out that this is just my opinion, but it probably will

It would still be a poor final 12 with or without Melanie.

I think she would have done well in that line up.....it doesn't look particularly inspiring.

She would have been out first like Caroline in week one.

Neah, her fan base is too big. I think she would have at least made it to the latter part of the competition.

I think her presence would have helped the line up a great deal, and Paul and probably Joseph too. There isn't actually that much variety amongst the stronger ones this year.

I highly doubt she would have.

She wasn't memorable enough and would only be cannon fodder in the final 12.

The ratings would still be the same nobody cares about the fact she didn't make it through. Thankfully there are no wildcards this year having the final 12 is enough.this year.

On the topic of Melanie, if they wanted her on the Live Shows, I don't think she would have been given airtime. She was pimped early but wasn't meant to make it.

You obviously weren't on twitter to see the backlash people went apeshit and you obviously didn't read the papers about the articles about the fan outrage?

You contradict yourself with this post to be fair.

Is that your opinion or an unequivocal fact?

The girl has closing in on 50,000 Twitter followers, her videos are amongst the highest viewed this series, social media sites (namely Twitter) went into meltdown when she was booted with her name trending globally and she is still being talked about heavily online and in the press.

She's doing a very big TV show tomorrow and today there have been thousands upon thousands of tweets directed at Cowell to bring in a wildcard for her. Yep totally unmemorable and unremarkable.

So, go figure.

But then, that's the problem isn't it? Certain fans of other contestants just want her to go away.

Yes, it seems they used her solely to create a dramatic moment at Judges House and never had the slightest intention of putting her through (the judges comments at her audition about this being her year sound strangely scripted in retrospect).

Twitter doesn't reflect public opinion fans are just meat and drink to the producers.

What you fail to understand is nobody cares if Melanie fans vent their frustration on social media. The decision was already made no amount of moaning or tweeting Simon begging him to give her a wildcard will change their mind.

Think the Maloney issues last year would be a factor.

The likes of the Brummie guy with the kid would have won and he would have been difficult to get shot of once in

Oo er, a possible "scripted" moment on X Factor, well I never

The poor girl was cannon fodder clearly just to make a drama
