I was watching the 2010 Live Tour the other day and I realised how much I missed Darren/Lilia/Matthew/Ian etc and Erin of course because she was my favourite pro when I first started watching it like age 10

I don't miss any of them tbh. I liked them all, but out of sight is out of mind and I'm happy to watch the current pros.

It is interesting how many of the ones they have got rid of have actually won the show, and by the sounds of things you can add Aliona to that list too.

Producers don't seem to have much time for ex winners. I do hope Ola isn't living on borrowed time.

Brendan, Ola, and Artem are still there.
Karen, Camilla, and Flavia all retired.
Darren, Lilia, and Matthew all got caught up in the absolute car-crash mess of the "dance troupe" which obviously wasn't supposed to end up like it did.

Really it's only Aliona I'd say was unequivocally sacked.

The only former pro I miss is Katya. Obviously i'm missing Natalie too but she's injured & will hopefully be back next year. There's been several other pros that I thought I would miss but don't. Changing the pros every so often keeps the show from becoming too stale. A few haven't worked out in the long term but that would be the same in any workplace enviroment.

At least Lilia and Matthew retained their dignity and didnt dance with the "dance troupe". I miss Matthew and Ian as apart from their wonderful dancing they are both tall as has been said and there is a dearth of tall mall dancers at the moment. I have to say I cant even remember the names of this year's new female professionals

I used to like Brian, they tried to put him in the dance troupe and I think he told them to shove it up their arses and quit.

I miss Erin, Lilia and Ian. I miss Erin because it took her a while to warm up, and I feel that in Series 6 she began to shine. After that, of course, she never got a real contender

Lilia was just wonderful to watch - her and Darren together were fantastic but, again, after series 4 she never got a real contender, and neither did Darren after series 2!!

I miss Ian's dancing, especially with Natalie, as they were beautiful together, but at least we get to see him on ITT.

Didn't I hear a whisper that Darren and Lilia could be on ITT at some point this year? I'm willing to be proved wrong on this, just thought I'd heard something....

I only miss Ian and Darren really. Nice guys and good choreographers. Also had really good connection a with partners.

Kinda miss Camilla too but think she left at right time for her.

Don't miss the rest at all. In fact I'm pleased Erin Vincent and Flavia are gone.

I do miss the old guard, but trying to keep an open mind on the new pros.

Kevin is already great value, he should definitely stay.

The others have been pretty dull so far, but maybe they just need a little time to settle in?
From what I remember Natalie was not warmly received when she first came on the show, people complained about her being cold and overly competitive, but she went on to become one of the most popular female pros. Likewise Karen didn't win many people over initially but now she has a more engaging partner her personality is starting to come through.

Did anyone other than the judges rate her? Vile woman.

Yep, I look back on the previous series and enjoyed all the dancers mentioned but life has to move on so they will change.

The problem for me is we're missing the old troupe because most of the dancers this year are without personality - Kevin is sort of getting there but all the others just fade into obscurity for me while we used to have some personalities within the dancers. Even the old stagers like Anton, James and Brendan are all being very nice and PC.

I miss Vincent and Flavia and Ian Waite. I don't miss the Bennetts at all. Brian Fortuna was not given a partner in his 2 series who could dance with fire. When he danced with Kristina they were electric and I'd like to have seen him partner someone like Natalie Gumede, for example.

I miss Katya. She was an amazing pro great personality and sexy!

I do miss Erin and Natalie, especially when watching the ballroom dances. They are both so elegant.

I miss lovely Vincent and Flavia so much - hopefully they'll get back to it one day. Erin was a sweetie, I'm sorry she's gone too. I don't miss any of the others that have left at all - couldn't bear Camilla / Brian / Matt.

I can see why you'd have a minor revamp as Kevin and Karen seem like really likeable people, but it has gone a tad too far. That Janette irritates me beyond belief, she stated she's never heard of any of the celebrities on the show which is hypocritical as nobody has heard of her. The other two new girls are pretty forgettable in all honesty (can't even remember their names)

I don't miss Katya, I was never a fan and same for Darren & Lilia. I think I was too late in starting to watch SCD to see them at their best.

I really miss Flavia and Vincent though... still not quite got used to watching Strictly without them. Especially Flavia.

I don't miss any of them per se, but I do miss someone who cracks the whip, they're all so nice now, even Artem.

Why is it hypocritical? A journalist asked her how many of the contestants she'd heard of & she replied that she'd only heard of Julien because of his fashion work. Is she meant to lie and pretend to know a bunch of british tv & sports stars? I also very much doubt that she expected anyone in the uk to have heard of her.

This series I find I'm missing Ian, Natalie and Katya - plus when Erin and a contestant gel it's great (Austin and Richard - who can ever forget her burning down the studio to the strains of O Fortuna?) so I miss her too.

I wish SCD had a more fluid approach to professionals, like DWTS, where professionals could rotate in and out. The ideal scenario (for me) would be to set up a properly utilised Dance Troup (as opposed to the after-thought that series 8's troupe felt like) of former professionals, and then rotate pros in and out of the troupe on a series by series basis depending on the celebs that were signed up. Instead it seems like here it's a 'once you're out, you're out unless we're desperate for cover' approach (e.g. Ian subbing for Brendan and James - and Aliona although we never saw that footage - and Aliona subbing for Natalie)
