Sam C uploaded a pic of the set- looks same as last year
It actually does look different if you look at it properly. It looks great. There seem to be some steps on the stage, and I'm not sure... but to the right of the stage can anyone else see what could be some new opening doors? Maybe for the judges, or contestants? We'll see.

Hm...unless that's some kind of techie term for the Xtra Factor studio that's at the top of the audience stairs? But then I guess that's not a 'stage' more a set

The set looks exactly the same as the one from 2009 and onwards. No change or evolution whatsoever. Seems like theyre not willing to splash the cash on having a better set.

But that set is stale, looks too dark as well. They should get a better set.

Of course it looks dark the lights aren't even on.
Maybe I notice the minor details, the very very minor details... but I think this set is a decent improvement. There are more steps around the back of the stage which I think looks good. I can also see that there is another opening door to the right, well I think it's a door. In both pictures you can see those stairs similar to what BGT use... maybe they are there for a performance, but it's odd they're in both pictures. Maybe we have the two flights of stairs for Dermot and Caroline to walk down? After the introduction, Caroline would then vacate to the newly built backstage area. We'll see what happens... but for me, this looks very promising.
They couldn't change it any more. Its as big as it can get, they don't need any more monitors. They have enough space for big productions. What do you suggest they do?

I don't see another door opening? The led screen to the right has always been in two parts as with the opposite screen on the left side where they both open to allow contestants to walk through.

The door on the right I think you're referring to above the steps has always been there, it's the same as the one on the left and is where the acts enter through for the results
I think the stairs on their own in the background are props for a performance, and dear God I hope Caroline isn't a part of Dermot's introduction, he must remain the sole host on stage and she has to stay backstage because it's his show and I don't want his dance routines ruined
