Sorry if this has been a thread before, couldn't see it. What do people think of the new pros? Each year I think why do they have to change pros, I loved Daren and Lilia, Ian Waite,, Erin and Flavia and Vincent, but have warmed to the gorgeous Robin, Artem and Pascha over the years. Loving Karen with Dave and little Kevin, but the new girls are leaving me cold at the mo. anyone have any thoughts on this?

I like Kevin.

Aljaz is okay, even though I don't like Abbey. Not keen on Janette at all.

I can't even remember Anya, probably because Patrick is hard to remember

Really enjoying Kevin - he's already found himself an image, so has Iveta to an extent.

Aljaz is more under the rader.

Janette is only noticed because she's partnered with he who shall not be named.

And Anya, I am afraid to say is invisible - honestly who is she? It's just struck me now how 'not there' she's been for the whole thing so far.

Like Kevin Mole 12 3/4 off the dance floor but I'm not keen on his dancing style or choreography yet. That might change though. He's too manic and busy, he needs to chill like he does off the floor and I'll like him more. I don't like the partnership much though, so that might be clouding my view.

Aljaz is ok, they are a gorgeous couple. I think he's definitely going to get stronger and he's brilliant in the pro dances.

I love Iveta, she's having a great partnership with Mark and she's good at choreographing around his weaknesses.

I'm one of the few that loves Anya, I think. She's great, but Patrick is a bit serious and naval gazing and so not much chemistry. That could change though as he gets into it.

Janette - so disappointing. She is a pop video contemporary dancer not a ballroom/Latin dancer. She can't even dance the dances, never mind choreograph and teach them. She's way out of her depth.

I remember last year when Karen was the new pro, She was thrown to the wolves and had but a few admirers here on this forum and a pretty tough time on the show as well. This year people know her a little bit better and she is being seen in a more favorable light, and justly so. Now we all love her because she has a hilarious partner.

Check the link below for Greg's opinion on her waltz last year, it's a tough one, but luckily She survived it and learned from it.

Definitely. Janette definitely out of her depth.

Alijaz seems ok for choreography/teaching the core dances (so far).

Kevin (Mole) seems to have a frenetic over dancing, over gurning manner (but this seems retrospectively to be a hangover from his competitive days - saw quite a number of the blokes gurning like a trooper (a la SCD charleston style) at the Internationals last week). Jury's still out for me of the complete package - although he seems to have a good library of choreography so far.

Iveta seems to have all the boxes ticked for choreography and teaching style and seems to have a good rapour with Mark.

Anya - I really didn't know that much about Anya before she started on Strictly however she seems to have the necessary background and choreography style to become successful on SCD.

I always think that pros succeed when they stand out in the pro dances to my eye but so far they only ones who have done that are Kevin and Janette (but for the wrong reasons).

No one has stood out for me in the way that Vincent and Flavia both used to (particularly Flavia).

Janette - BIB agree totally

Iveta - love her, loved her last year, still love her, she ticks all the boxes

Kevin - meh - he gets on well with Susanna, he dances and choreographs well but he is just - dare I say it - a little boring

Aljaz - think he will bring bigger and better things, he is a great dancer and seems to be choreoraphing to Abbeys strengths

Anya - completely invisable - cant say anything else

Janette - I'm not ready to write her off just yet. It's hard to know if it's her partner or her teaching or the combination, but they don't seem to be ironing out his problem areas (which is all of them, but poor posture has to be top of the list of crimes to my inexpert eyes). It does seem odd to hire someone who doesn't have a thorough training in ballroom and latin. She maybe a versatile dancer herself, but it's a tall order to expect her to teach the correct technique and have the skills to choreograph too. I wonder if they really wanted Aljaz and she was part of the package

Aljaz is a bit of a hit, I think. He's a lovely dancer, seems to be a good teacher and I loved the waltz he choreographed, though I was less sure about the cha cha. Good on the ITT sofa, lovely deep voice, sense of humour, pleasing to the eye.....

Kevin - so far so good for me. He seems likeable and to be a decent teacher. I'm undecided about the partnership and he's a bit excitable when he dances, but I think he adds to the 'variety' among the pros.

Iveta - Likeable and fun and seems to build good rapport with her partner quite quickly.

Anya - I expected to love Anya, but I'm struggling to have an opinion one way or another. Maybe it's the partnership which has, so far, failed to ignite.

Erin was always my favourite pro, it's not the same without her.

Anya is my favourite new pro, can see her sticking around. Great choreo.

Pasha always seems to have the most consistently good choreography and all his partners seem to love him.

I like Kevin and Iveta the most out of the new pros.

I don't rate Janette at all, on any level.

Aljaz seems ok but Anya hasn't made any impression at all.

Kevin - I like, I did love after the Launch show but now it's down to like I'm finding his choreography abit manic, but i do like HIM still.

Anya - I like end of

Janette - I've warmed to her as a person but i don't like her dancing.

Iveta - Am i the only one who finds her hard to understand?

Aljaz - I like, seems to have a great sense of humour and I have enjoyed his choreography so far. I, however don't like him to look at

I love Iveta, she's great.
Like Aljaz.
Kevin a bit too over the top.
Can't take to Janette.
Anya is invisible.

I like Iveta....as continuation from last year.

The other new Pros seem ok at the moment, but like other previous newbie Pros, they might not all impress straight away. Natalie Lowe and Aliona weren't popular additions straight away but both have (or had) showed their worth on the show over the years (esp when they've had good dance partners). I think Janette and Anya won't have the most memorable debuts (like Aliona didn't with Rav), but if they return and get better partners (particularly in Janette's case) then they might be able to make more of an impact. Iveta has a good partner in Mark, and Aljaz with Abbey too, so they have an easier job. I feel sorry for Janette as Julian really isn't good and he's just so floppy that it must be hard to teach him, let alone mould and sure him up as a dancer when he hasn't really resembled one and needs so much work .Patrick seems a nice bloke and relatively decent dancer, but his and Anya's low key personalities might mean they get forgotten amidst bigger characters. I don't mind low key characters but sometimes on a show where you need votes, it isn't always helpful.

I'm glad I'm not the only one not to get the Pasha idolatry. I do like some of his choreography for his partners - I thought a couple of his numbers for Chelsea were outstanding but some of that was just novelty value because I hadn't seen his moves before. He's a good all round dancer. Just good, to me. I find his personality very bland and slightly contrived. I just can't understand how people find him attractive. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I think having a partner with potential would expose Janette's deficiencies even more. The bottom line is that she is just not a good dancer - I have never seen a dance 'pro' with such bad posture before. You only have to see her slumping on the sofa on ITT to wonder how on earth anyone would be expected to learn to dance from her. It actually makes me very cross that someone with her lack of basic ability and training has been given this job, when there must be many able, well qualified ballroom and Latin dancers out there.
On the bright side, Iveta is highly impressive, as we all suspected she would be after last year's debut and Aljaz is doing a good job with Abbey. Jury out for me on the others, though I like Kevin from Grimsby as a concept!

Artem and Aljaz stand out a mile. Great training will out! Makes the others look like tired old ballroom dancers.

Not impressed by new girls. Iveta really has overdone the plastic surgery and the Botox. Do not like her dance style either.

As others have so accurately pointed out, Janette just cannot cut it, poor girl. Very bad technique - especially her feet and legs. Also she hasn't got a clue about choreography.

Anya is forgettable but a nice person. Katya was much better.

He reminds me a lot of Matthew Cutler, absolutely worshipped on this board but completely passed me by.

Nice does nothing for me, although we'll see if he can keep it up with a Rachel. But he's like James, I think, well on his way to checking out to Erin Island.

I don't dislike Pasha, I just forget he's there half the time and the other half he's so bland I wish I could forget he was there.

He's like Robin though, he fulfils a role on Strictly.

But then I guess I'm different because I cannot abide Derek on DWTS but love Maks. I like a bad boy.

To me she looks so different from last year. When she was standing waiting to be called in the launch show all i could think was lollipop head and that is so not a good look!

Don't get the Alijaz thing, strange looking guy to me. Choreo wise he's dancing with Rachel and I think she's struggling with the complexity of what he's asking. Whilst Craig was a bit cruel with the slug in salt comment it was a lot of flailing about. Jeanette who? Magnolia is my thoughts on her. Same with Anya. Kevin I think is cute but can't stand Suzanne! Can't beat the old pros in my view but when I think about it some have come and gone without a thought, the guy who danced with Jan Ravens for example. Anyone remember some of the other old pros who have come and gone, missed or totally forgotten?

Rachel is dancing with Pasha, Abbey is dancing with Aljaz.
