Hello all.
Can anybody help me here? For some reason my computer can't playback music or video files. I get an error message every time i try saying 'server execution failed'.

Does anybody know how I can rectify this? Many thanks if you can.

You mean media files that are on your computer? Such as mp3? What is actually giving the error, what program?

If it's recent it might be easiest just to system restore.

Thanks for your reply guys. In a nutshell when i right click on any music or video file to play through the Windows media player (Windows 7). Thats when the error message appears "server execution failed"!!!!! Which means I can't play anything via the media player on the computer.

Cheers

have you installed or removed any software just before this started?

have you tried a System Restore?

if you google "wmp server execution failed" you'll get 36,000 hits. I didn't look at any, because if I'm out of DS for more than a couple of minutes I'm timed out.

I've had issues with WMP in the past, I don't use it at all now and use GOM Player and VLC Player.

For me it's usually microsoft products that end up not working on their operating systems, also had issues with Internet Explorer in the past so now use Opera.
