For ease of reference, including a link to daveyboy's discussion thread on this story.

Still doing a happy dance. This was the DW story of my birth and one of Troughton's favourites.

Ah, sorry. I did actually check carefully whether there was an existing thread, but didn't go back far enough. DS themselves have the same guidelines as many forums, which recommends creating over reopening an old thread, but I'm happy with whatever the regular members prefer.

Terrible luddite so will be waiting for the DVD. Know 'Web...' is the more famous story but for some reason I'm looking forward to this even more than that for some reason (and I'm looking forward to 'Web' a lot as well, obviously!)

Just saw the DVD cover with the two Troughtons and started grinning with delight. Ah, 'tis a good friday.

Look forward to reading the reactions. Wont be spoilered....I know what happens at the end.

I wasn't criticising your new thread, just providing a link so past forum members' comments wouldn't be lost to history.

Oh what a terrible fate, thanks to the Internet nothing is now truly lost. Well, nothing since around around the early 90's.

I think I'm going to take the advice given about order and watch EofW first. I'm dying to watch WoF, but it just seems right to watch them in the broadcast order given that they've arrived together.

Interesting to see the juddery end titles. I wonder why they left them like that, I've not seen it any of the others. Would they have been that bad originally or would it have been degeneration of the source material?

It was a great watch, by the way, the capsule in the shaft was a particularly impressive effect. Plus I spotted a wobbly set

Just watched the trailers for this and WOF....the quality looks outstanding. Very excited as I've never seen anything other than the episode we always had. No retcons, no audio, etc. (I'm a lightweight, I guess.)

It's been a few days now, but not quite sunk in that I'll be popping out to buy a complete Troughton story in the 50th Anniversary month....and a story with a dual Troughton role, very interesting sounding concepts and Hancock's mate Bill Kerr in a major role to boot. COME ON!!

Was thinking about starting a thread to ask what people are most looking forward to for the remainder of 2013 (50th/Adventures In.../Christmas and Capaldi, etc but chickened out cos things can tend to get rather fractious at the moment (and I don't know how to create a poll, basically! ) but EOTW is right up there.
