Good start for Abi. Good song but not one of those peaking too soon song choices. Smart song choice for week 1 imo.
Can see Sam Bailey getting the pimp slot tomorrow. She will peak too soon. Kingsland Road – I’m Your Man talk about cheese on cheese. ![]() Rough Copy - In The Air Tonight could be amazing. Luke Friend – Every Breath You Take. Luke will be the top boy in this season for sure. Really excited to see Abi,Luke and Rough Copy. |

Is Sam's song the Frankie Goes to Hollywood 'Power of Love' or the Jennifer Rush one?
I bet Abi's song is slowed down  Others look very predictable. Kingsland Road - I'm Your Man That sounds cheesy as hell.

If Sam has the Jennifer Rush 'Power Of Love' then she could be in trouble, Louis Walsh named it as the song he most hates to hear being sung on Xtra Factor

They're really throwing Shelley and Kingsland Road under the bus aren't they? Miss Dyanmix are just going to draw comparsions with the Girls Aloud version aren't they?

Abi Alton – Livin’ On A Prayer
Probably going to be similar to that boring 'slowed down' ballad version that Sophie Habibis did in 2011. Sam Bailey – Power of Love SNORE. I'm assuming it's the Jennifer Rush version in which case how predictable. I am not going to enjoy Sam's run on the live shows if she keeps this up. Hannah Barrett – What’s Love Got To Do With It Could be great actually. I think it'll suit her deep voice perfectly and there are lots of opportunities for her to change the melody and stay faithful to the song. Sam Callahan – Summer of ‘69 Meh, I'm expecting a weak vocal and a very loud backing track to drown it out. Tamera Foster – Ain’t Nobody Probably do a 'modern' version with a dancey arrangement, which I think will be quite cool actually. This could be the start of a strong run for her. Luke Friend – Every Breath You Take Actually a very good song choice for him. It's a classic that isn't sung THAT often compared to some of the others and it's a very quiet, slow building song too which will benefit his whispery voice. Kingsland Road – I’m Your Man Horrible. Cheese. Nicholas McDonald – True Don't know this song. Is it supposed to be True Colours by Cyndi Lauper? Miss Dynamix – Jump Their success will very much come down to how the judges critique them. They can go the 'WOW it was just so fresh and funky etc..." route with them or the "I just didn't get it, it was like a Girl's Aloud rip off act". Prediction: they will sing well but be an early elim anyway with the producers wanting to get Sese out of the way before the tour. Rough Copy - In The Air Tonight Could be the worst performance of the night, simply because I don't think the song will suit them AT ALL. These guys have potential but this first week will be critical for them and I don't think that song will help Lorna Simpson – So Emotional FINALLY, someone picks an up tempo Whitney song. And it's one of her best. I think this will be amazing! Lorna will kill it. Shelley Smith - Alone I'm sure it won't be worse than Baloney's version last year, but it's such an epic song I don't see Shelley doing particularly well with it either. |

Isn't this the 15th Whitney song that Lorna has done?
I really feel sorry for the ladies of Heart. Every year their biggest song gets slaughtered on these shows. They're probably still recovering from Paul Jolley's version on Idol. On the plus side, there's a pretty decent mix of uptempo , mid tempo and slower songs. |

Looking down that list, Luke's song choice screams out "bottom two" at me.
What an absolutely terrible, terrible choice for a first song. Brilliant song that so doesn't translate to a 1 minute 30 or whatever segment on a show like this and will no doubt come across as bland and instantly forgettable. Hannah's song also seems pretty woeful. Summer of 69? Really? Oh good god. |

Not a fan but Poor Sam being stitched up with Summer Of 69 typical lazy choice behind the scenes looks like he is the expendable boy.

I would prefer Miss Dynamix to sing 'The Pointer Sisters' version, rather than the bland 'Girls Aloud' version.

![]() I mean they should be doing something much cooler than this. Going by song choices, I'd pencil in Dynamix and Lorna for that bottom 2. |

This could throw our predictions right out the window.
I sense a Week 1 shocker happening, looking at that list. |

Due to Shelly having a popular song I actually think she could be safe now.

Spandeau Ballet and Wham?
If they'd named it "Cheesy Classics" or "Secret pleasures" then it'd be perfect, but...come on |
