[Game] The Mix Factor 4: Live Show #8
It's finally weekend ladies and gentlemen. The live shows of the real X Factor are about to start, which is always exciting of course. We however have the luxury of kick off this weekend in style with a show of The Mix Factor!
Last Sunday, the competition was incredibly fierce as none of the top 8 acts wanted to land in the dreaded bottom 3 during the equally dreaded mid-series double elimination round. The thing with these competitions is that there's always a bottom 3, no matter how good everyone is. We witnessed that last week, when viewers and judges alike were treated to a (minor?) shocker when Fifth Harmony, Raphael Herrerias and Orpheus found themselves in the bottom 3. The latter two were the unfortunate acts who had to pack their bags, leaving veteran panel member Soppyfan actless relatively early in the competition once again... Today will be a more relaxed show compared to last Sunday's. For starters, only one act will be leaving the competition tonight after the final sing-off of the series. The theme was also a lot less difficult - the top 6 will sing two songs from the same artist each, but both songs will have major differences between them. Enough small talk, please welcome the judges and the top 6 to the stage once more! Considering the name of the theme, this is almost obligatory as tonight's intro tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-FdnLAg4UM ![]() _NiallDEE_ and the groups Alien Beat Club Fifth Harmony fireemblemcraze and the girls Bella Ferraro Milou van Egmond Karoline pingu58011 and the last of the over 25s Anna Wilson Soppyfan who has no remaining boys... Judges, are you here? If you are, please confirm your presence. |

Half of you are here, good enough for me!
So without further ado, let's get this party started. Singing something I hope she doesn't mean, it's Pingu's trump card Anna Wilson singing Come See The End In Me by Elske DeWall! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ho1Zmn0gLS8 |

Anna, I think your mentor showed once again that he really gets your sound with this song, as it was another song that sounds really similar to you. I think the song itself was interesting, it was very country inspired and it's the first country song you've done in this show if I remember correctly. I have to say though, I'm not really the biggest fan of country myself, and although you were primarily a country artist, I do prefer it when you do other types of songs, on the actual XF you did some rock style performances so I'd maybe like to see something similar to that. A good performance overall however! |

*Standing Ovation* OH MY GOD ANNA WELL DONE FOR OPENING THE SHOWWWWW. That was just incredible as it showed off your softer vocals while still having some of those all important powerful. It was just a ball of awesomeness and you have come so far in this competition. Can`t wait for your second song which is even better!!! |

Anna, I thought that it wasn't a bad choice but not fantastic either to start with. The song was mid-tempo which was a nice change, but compared to your ballads, it wasn't that great as I think it could've been. But nonetheless, you're the last Over standing and you're showing us why. An okay start to the show, but I hope you bring it back with your second performance.

The song was really passionate and it was really nice to listen to. I think the tone of Elske DeWall is a little too thick for your girly rock voice but otherwise no complaints about the song choice here. It really suited your country rock genre. This is the sort of stuff you should be singing all the time. Good song choice Penguin.

Good comments for Anna to start with, it seems the slight deviation in genre helped here out tonight. What did the public think of it though?
The next is is also singing a song I hope has no meaning in the context of her journey on this show. Singing Expiration Date by Jhene Aiko, it's the wonderful Karoline. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnK0eY677Zg |

*Standing Ovation* Now this is what I have been wanting Karoline. that was just amazing, and your best performance for weeks and weeks. RnB, and just a great song choice. For the first time in many weeks, I can see you reaching the final. This is the definition of a comeback. Well done!! |

Karoline
Welcome back Karoline! I generally been a fan of you in this competition and I really wanted to love this but it kind of fell a bit flat for me. I think this style was right for you as opposed to the type of song you did last week, but there's something about this particular song that I really don't like. I guess I just feel that your vocals are more mature and this song doesn't really utilise that, as it's quite high pitched. It wasn't awful by any means but probably not my favourite performance from you, hopefully you can bring it back for me in your second performance! |

Karoline
Niall and Pingu didn’t like the song choice last week and thought it didn’t suit you. So I’ve chosen a song which suits the higher end of your voice (like in your As Long As You Love Me performance, you’ve got this wonderful soft high pitched tone). I think this song actually sounds exactly like that. And it’s got a lovely old school R&B vibe keeping you interesting, as for the dark electric route you’re going down – wait till the second song folks.

Karoline, I would agree with Niall here. I liked the song you went with here and that it was good for you, but it didn't really seem to stand out and at this stage of the competition, I need to be seeing more wow-ness and such if you get my meaning. I hope you can bring it a lot better later.

Generally positive comments for Karoline regarding this performance. Also, Steve has only been neutral for 2 performances but is already on a roll or so it seems.
![]() Time for a group to sing don't you think? Singing Prom Queens by You Say France & I Whistle, it's our very own Alien Beat Club! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNlqQNoxO1M |

I am sorry guys but I did not like that at all. It all just seemed very strange, and like something from high school musical. It didn`t suit you or your style, or your voices for that matter. It just seemed like your mentor picked any group with boys and girls in it. You will have to pull it back with your second song!!! |

I think this was a better fit than last week’s choice which was maybe a bit too indie? I can see some resemblances to that soulful/R&B Warwick Avenue rendition - the vocals sounded quite similar. I can see what Niall is trying to do with you, and I think it’s very interesting. The song itself is really good – really upbeat and catchy. Overall I enjoyed it.

Well ABC, I will be honest here, I never expected you to make it this far, so I guess that's top marks to your mentor, eh? Well I'm not so sure what Pingu saw, but I really enjoyed that guys. It was fun, catchy and quite a pleasure to listen to. It sounded great for me, can't wait to see your next performance.

I've been wanting to use YSFAIW for you guys for a while, and I think this song particularly really works for you. It definitely shows the quirky side to you, whilst enabling you to have fun at the same time. But also, at the same time it still definitely has an indie vibe to you which I've tried to show with you guys in every performance. It was also completely equal in terms of male/female vocal parts, which is always a plus as it's hard to find songs like that that suit you, and you all have great voices so it's best to try and utilise them! Another great performance guys, and I'm looking forward to showing everyone another side to you with your second performance! |

Mixed comments for Alien Beat Club, one has to wonder how that will play out in the voting tonight. Will they be able to convince Pingu with their second song?
With half of the remaining acts being Roxie's acts, it's no surprise we're going back to the girls again. Singing Box of Crayons by Jilette Johnson, it's the amazing Milou van Egmond! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad1OyBfITjY |

Milou van Egmond
I think this was another really great song for you Milou! Once again it suits you down to a tee, completely suits your vocal and also the little indie vibe that you have. I particularly liked the way this song developed, it started off low key but became increasing bigger as it went on and the latter parts really allowed you to show the best of your voice, and I'd actually say this is one of my favourite performances from you to date. Great job Milou! |

Milou
This goes back to your traditional acoustic performances, while showing that lovely bubbly side of you which everyone loved back when Kevin gave you the Leddra Chapman song (amazing song choice btw). I think this song was perfect for showing that sweet, softer sign of your nature while being a great fit for your voice, especially those bits which expose the higher end of your range (‘la da da da, la da da dee’ anyone?).

*Standing Ovation* Oh MIlou I have stood up a lot tonight. I cannot fault that performance yet again. It was quirky, fun and upbeat. I was really getting into the groove and I really did enjoy it. Roxie has really maintained your high standard and I am very happy with that. Great job girl!!! |

Milou, after a few disappointments, you have FINALLY got back what I believe was missing from you for the past few shows, which is your guitar & up-tempo style. It was upbeat and it provided a very entertaining performance. I really liked it overall and I hope we get to see a different side to you later.
