'Hollyoaks' Bryan bails, new EP drafted in
After just under a year back in the hot-seat of Hollyoaks, we can confirm that executive producer Bryan Kirkwood has announced his intentions to quit the role, with immediate effect, leaving bosses of the Channel 4 soap in a spin. Kirkwood, who has had two stints as the executive producer of Hollyoaks, originally from 2006 - 2009, before returning in late 2012, spoke to bosses at Lime Pictures about his decision to move on early this morning, leaving them with no other choice but to start searches for a replacement.

We can now exclusively reveal that budding writer and fan of Hollyoaks, Lem has been drafted in as replacement executive producer of Hollyoaks. Speaking of her appointment, Lem commented: 'It's all been a bit of a whirlwind really! One minute I was sipping Coffee, and the next I was in a meeting with top executives'.

'I'm a big fan of Hollyoaks, and have watched closely over Bryan's work for the last year play on-screen as it played out. I'm excited to get cracking, and have lots of ideas on where to take Hollyoaks' direction in the future, as well as the individual characters and plots'.

Lem will be first credited on Monday 15th October, as the Hollyoaks' eighteenth celebrations kick off, with 'Hollyoaks: Blast Week', which will see numerous characters killed off.

'Hollyoaks' unveils new 'Blast Week' poster
Ahead of the beginning of Hollyoaks' eighteenth anniversary celebrations which commence this Monday, a new poster has been released for the 'Hollyoaks: Blast Week', which teases possible identities of the five characters, who will die throughout the birthday week.

The poster features eighteen characters, tying in with the Eighteenth celebrations of Hollyoaks. The characters include: Doug Carter (PJ Brennan), Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), Sinead O'Connor (Stephanie Davis), Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham), Lindsey Butterfield (Sophie Austin), Sandy Roscoe (Gillian Taylforth), Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson), Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), Dodger Savage (Danny Mac), Dennis Savage (Joe Tracini), Leanne Holiday (Jessica Forrest), Will Savage (James Atherton), Ash Kane (Holly Weston), Martha Kane (Carli Norris), Diane O'Connor (Alex Fletcher), Trevor Royle (Greg Wood), Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring).

It has been confirmed that at least FIVE of these characters will perish, with rumours of another surprise death being lined up to catch viewers off-guard. We can also reveal that there will be a few returns during the celebratory episodes, but no further details of the characters in question have been released.

Hollyoaks' Eighteenth Anniversary Celebrations kick off on Monday, and will continue throughout the week.
