Although they have flagged next weekend's showing of Spearhead From Space as HD, so possibly the same master as the Blu Ray version might be used.

Great bit of footage of Matt and David at the end. Really hyped for the 50th now.

I'm too young to remember Patrick Troughton (I can only just remember Jon Pertwee), so I'll enjoy this. The production values look higher than I would've thought. And the incidental music - it sounds like a full orchestra - I don't know if it's bespoke, or library music?

Had a quick look at what I've Sky Plussed so far & the 2 repeats appear to be Vidfired at least.

Just had to watch tomb. I wanted to just avoid it but every time its on TV I have to watch it even though I own it twice on DVD.

The lazers on this version didnt look right at all. Looked drawn on something I dont remember seeing on the VHS release.

They've also got it as starring somebody called "John Pertwee".

The omnibus version of tomb lost its impact at the end of part 2 compared to the episodic version. Very little use in that version for me. Deleted the recording at that point.

Does anyone know where you can watch Watch online? I don't have a TV at uni and am streaming everything at the moment. Annoyed I missed Aztecs but luckily I've watched both Tomb and Spearhead quite recently so it could be worse. Anyone know when/what the T.Baker story will be? (Hopefully not Genesis as it's the only one I've watched lately)

According to Digiguide Peter Davison's is Earthshock, Colin Baker's Vengeance on Varos but the Sylvester McCoy one has yet to be listed. They are showing the Paul McGann movie after his half hour. And Bad Wolf after Christopher Ecclestone's. And Silence in the Library after David Tennants,

Watch's Revisited schedule as listed by the Radio Times:
http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-...tors-revisited

Matt Smith's Revisited story should be The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon.
Also, David Tennant's should be The Stolen Earth/Journey's End.

Sylvester McCoy's Story after his revisited in the USA was Remembrance of the Daleks, but when the Radio Times published their article detailing Watch's schedule,
Battlefield was listed as the story that would be shown for the 7th Doctor.

We'll find out in a couple of weeks what the stories are for definite when it's on the EPG.

That's what I was thinking about Tomb of the Cybermen. Glad I Sky+ it. Have the original (un-VidFIRE'd) DVD, but not the revisited DVD so not seen it VidFIRE'd.

Now, I wonder if next weeks Spearhead is the new HD version? (it's certainly indicating it on the Sky EPG at the moment)

Sometimes a Dominatrix ties me to a chair with leather belts and forces me to watch the series.

If you record it what difference does the length of adverts make? Just fast forwards them

I really enjoyed all the new content, personally.

That's fine, but for some of us who love DW, but don't have your encyclopaedic knowledge of all the background information, these programmes are interesting and informative. So, whether you, or anyone else, learned anything or not, some of us did and we enjoyed doing so!

Knowing it all, seeing every episode or owning every DVD does not mean anyone who hasn't done/doesn't have those things is any less of a fan of the show as a whole. I don't have the time, the technology or the money to know it all, see it all or own it all, but I love DW and have done since I was 5 years old (I'm 46 now).

I totally understand how easy it is to be so caught up in the nitty-gritty of something you love to the point where it's easy to lose sight of the fact that others may, for whatever reason, have a different (but no less valid) experience of it to you. I know it's probably not at all the intention of some of the dedicated fans/posters to make occasional/casual visitors to this thread feel uncomfortable. However, as one of those occasional visitors who doesn't know it all, hasn't seen it all and won't ever own most of it, there is often the impression that anyone hasn't done those things is some kind of 'second class' or 'lesser fan' and not welcome in what comes across as being a bit cliquey sometimes.

It's such a big year for DW for those who care - isn't everyone who feels something for DW welcome to take as much or as little as they want/can from anything and everything that ends up being broadcast?

To be honest I'm surprised at how negatively, for the most part, these Watch specials have been received by posters who've commented. Clearly I'm naive, but the dismissive nature of many of the comments has surprised me - but I think again that's because the majority who post here regularly are members of the 'know it, seen it, own it' club. I'm not sure some think people like me even being here... which make me nervous of even saying what I'm saying now!

Anyway, speaking for myself and my family (including two teenagers who've never seen any classic DW and know very little about the detail of Doctors, companions or stories) we've hugely enjoyed what we've seen so far on these Watch specials, even though some of it is clearly the same interviews re-edited into different individual programmes. None of us has ever seen the episodes featuring Hartnell and Troughton before (my first Doctor was Jon Pertwee, and only then in his very last story - as I say, I was 5 at the time, but that's my first DW memory) so we enjoyed those and made the most of them, knowing we'll probably never see them again unless they're repeated. That will go for every other classic episode too - unless they're on TV we'll never see them, because we can't afford to create a DVD collection to play 'catch-up'. Unfortunately that does reather limit us to post-2005 episodes at the moment, so we'll take what we get and enjoy it!

I've spent the last year watching all of the Hartnell and Troughton stories (and the audios for the missing ones), including all the special features and commentaries. I'm now up to Pertwee's second year having just watched Terror of the Autons and I can say that I still enjoyed all of the Watch documentaries immensely. Admittedly, I haven't watched "Doctor Who Explained" yet but I've no reason to believe I won't enjoy that too.
