What are you hoping to hear from DTC Interview? (EE)
I know he only took charge of the show at the end of August, but I'm becoming extremely impatient waiting on an interview from him, Perhaps it's because we got nothing but bullsh*t from the last Executive Producer and more importantly because the show is in the gutter at the moment!
Anyway, I'm hoping to hear things like; The bookies and the chippy sets being used more Less focus on the teens Family wars i.e. The Mitchells vs The Carters Original storylines! Dominic really does have to pull something special out of the bag if he wants EastEnders (which is the third soap now) to re-gain the top spot. Sadly, as much as I love EastEnders, I can't see it ever recovering from this mess to be honest! Anyway, what do you guys want to see from his interview?

I'm guessing mid November. Her sisters casting was announced around the end of September, but I could be wrong! I'm missing Shirley too! To be honest, if Newman was still sticking around then I could almost have guaranteed Linda would have either quit or asked for a 6 month break!
yeah i was expecting an announcement this year. i think linda has a summer break every year |

More Villains!
More focus on the Mitchells. Even with Ronnies return, there has been a lack of Mitchells. I know they aren't everyones cup of tea but they are strong characters. A new beginning for Alfie and Kat. They were horrible depressing when they returned and their stories didn't help that either, I just want to see them happily together or not at all. |

I want to know where he plans to take the show in the next few years, the kinds of stories we can expect to see, what his vision is and how he plans to recover from what has been the worst ever period of EastEnders. I'd also like to know about his characters, how he plans to develope them, aswell as friendships, connections, enemies etc.
Moreover, I want DTC to be absolutely truthful in his interviews. With Kirkwood, I never got the impression that he meant half of what he was saying. It felt like he was just telling us what we wanted to hear in interviews and then bugger off with his own warped ideas. I mean, who can forget this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hJq5SVX1_8 For me it's really about hard-hitting storylines. It's this that's been lacking in EastEnders for years now (and believe to be instrumental in the decline of ratings). IMO we need to see that grit and drama back. This is the soap that gave us "You aint my muvva" and Stacey's bi-polar. When they get it right, they thrive but it's been so long since we've seen quality material of that scale. |

![]() Truely the worst trailer for a new character(s) on EastEnders ever. The trailers genuinely sucked under Kirkwood but that one was something else.

- A focus on gritty, hard-hitting and kitchen-sink style plots
- Rebuilding broken family units - A backseat for the Brannings - Beales and Jacksons coming to the forefront - Better pacing i.e no more on-and-off storylines that disappear for weeks on end - Not dragging stories out for the sake of it and letting them reach a natural conclusion - Redeeming Sharon - Keeping Ian and Denise together - Keeping most couples together - Minimal affairs, love triangles and pregnancies |

I understand that this is a topic close to you but how many times will you keep asking this question? We all get the fact that you think there should be more LGBT characters (got to wonder why when it would be merely box ticking, but whatever). Harbouring the issue from thread to thread is both unnecessary and annoying.

I am hoping to hear that Janine loses all her millions and turns poor so she'll have to be nice to people and interact with them and that people pity her.
Also, that they do something about Fatboy; either make him grow up and stop acting like a kid, give him a good storyline to prove himself to that or axe him. |

One of the major things they need to work on is coherence. Working out who lives where and none of this B+B renting crap.
Sharon needs the flat above Ronnie and either one of them needs to get ownership of the bookies. Some dark stories, permanent disabilities, rapes, domestic violence revisited, something realistic but gritty. |

To be fare to DTC. As much as I would like an interview from the man to tell us just what his vision for East is, he has one hell of a workload at the moment trying to sort out what has become a massive mess.
I have a feeling rewrites of LN stories have been talking place as well as future story boarding. His job is enormous under normal circumstances, so I think it's right he concentrate his energy on that rather than planning interviews at the moment. |
