humax software

Hey guys, I downloaded the latest humax software from the beta website via usb. However I followed instructions on a YouTube video demo and I'm still not getting beyond the startup screen when the usb is inserted. When it is taken out and the box restarted it's fine. Just frustrating that I cannot get the latest software from January 2013 onto the box. I hoped it would solve some hdmi issues as per the website. I'm still stuck with summer 2012 software. That summer 2012 software downloaded okay so don't know what's going wrong. I haven't saw any OTA transmissions.

If it is your HDR-FOX-T2 that you are referring to check the following:

(1) The USB flash drive has been fully formated to FAT32. I.e. not a quick format.
(2) You have downloaded the software for the HDR-FOX-T2 and not one of Humax's other products. (The download page gives the HD_FOX-T2 downloads first followed by the HDR-FOX-T2.)
(3) The downloaded zip file has been unzipped and placed at the top level of the USB flash drive.
(4) The extracted software has not been accidently renamed.

Once you have checked those points, then if it still does not work then could you post a bit more detail about how you have attempted the update and exactly what happened?

BTW there has not been an OTA for FHTCP1.02.32.

The root directory ie if your USB stick appears as E: on a PC the file would be in E:\hdr_fox_t2_upgrade.hdf and not in a sub directory.

o Ensure no other USB devices are connected
o Do not use a USB extender cable
o Removing all other files / full-formatting can prevent file fragmentation
o Try both USB ports (HDR)
o Last Resort, Try a different USB Flash Drive”
