Mod Request
Grisonaut

Can I/we have a short post from the Mod Team when threads/posts are culled?

It seems that every time I post anywhere near Richard Watson, it disappears into the ether.

Long live the Space Badgers.

Many thanks.

Can you say which thread?

Lii, a couple of pages of harmless Space Badger fun, culled from the Spoilers thread.

And today some thread/posts about Mr Watson wishing someone be violated from the rear by Moffat.

I don't object to thread deletions/moves as such, but it would be nice to get a heads-up.

The badger posts in the spoilers thread:

It turned into a heated discussion between me and quite a few others and complaints about people being rude in the thread, complaints about badgers not being on topic. And that all turning into an online scrap. The mods deleted it the same night, and left a post saying to keep the thread on topic, which in their mind and others, it wasn't.

Not sure why you or anyone would need more explanation than that. Surely they don't have to explain everything they do?

OK, I thought it might have been the space badgers, I was there as well and bailed after blocking someone. The whole tone was very confrontational and I have no interest in that. I saw later that the mods had been in and a whole lot of stuff deleted, so I guess things went downhill.

I actually contacted the mods about it a few days later with a suggestion. The problem is that there is just one thread that allows discussion of spoilers and rumours, and at times like this it can become very active. Topics on here veer all over the place and the tone is irreverent at best. If you have a few users in the same place who don't like that, it creates friction.

My suggestion was simply to create another general chat thread, with spoilers and rumours both allowed and expected. I wanted to check that they would be happy with that, rather than consider it a duplicate. They were.

However, I'm not sure it's necessary. Most times these problems fizz away. People chill after a few days, or leave realising this isn't the forum for them. Or a mod will help them decide.

I'm really not sure what's up with Mr Watson. He seems to be an especially confrontational user who is hanging around looking for people to disagree with. He's either going to become bored of this, or be a very easy decision for a moderator. It's right there at the top of the list whenever you post, "please treat other users with respect".
