SUSANNA didn't deserve 9s for her V Waltz

Former Strictly pro Nicole Cutler seemed to think the Viennese Waltz was worth a 9 (on Twitter). And although I felt Susanna was overmarked for her first couple of dances, I thought she deserved the praise and high scores tonight. It was really lovely. And no faffing from Kevin, he knuckles down with the choreography, I like that.

I thought she danced a content full dance well, so given the other marks and her level of experience she deserved the 9's

Exactly. If we were being really scrupulous about marks Natalie would be getting 8's and most other people a 2 or 3 and the Dave's, Julien's etc minus points. And how would that help?

Most of the dancers were over marked so overall she came out about right, I loved it the dance, music, dress loved the autum leaves on the dance floor all came together just lovely. Thanks to Kevin who is lovely

I think you are right, the BBC people get the most points. Rachel is channel4 and they don't seem to like her. hairy biker bloke BBC and Deborah the same.

Didn't we hear Len saying she "attempted" a fleckerl? with the long skirt, the mist and the fact that our telly is cutting off the edges of the picture (and given that I wouldn't know a fleckerl if it leapt out and bit me) I couldn't tell whether he meant that she bodged it.

The best what? Certainly not the best dance, cos he has yet to do any.

Like you, I loved Susanna's dance.

But hairy biker bloke (BBC) is bottom of the leaderboard and Natalie (ITV) is top of the leaderboard. If they are favouring the BBC, therefore, they aren't doing it very well!

Susanna didn't complete the fleckerl for whatever reason.

Technically it was good but she does not emote - the performance did not vaguely move me.

I would have said an 8 was about right

Sorry, I loved it. It was one of the most memorable choreography of the night.

The judges were holding back their tens for Natalie. And in the end, the leaderboard positions was just about right.

I thought the dance was good and deserved 8s at best. I knew that Len would give a 9 from what he was saying but he's a sucker for a decent VW, which this was. Darcey's 9 was a BIG surprise. (Sorry for shouting but that's what I did at the time! )

As much as I usually agree with Len when he talks technique, tonight he was wrong when he said Susanna & Kevin attempted a fleckerl.

What they danced was a run-around. Effective though that is, it is way way easier than a fleckerl which is a very difficult step.

I wondered what it was that made it look weird but you're right, it was like she was running to the loo with her knickers round her ankles.

Not that I'd know anything about that. (looks about shiftilly, yep, got away with that)

I believe that Susanna was overmarked, but not as much as Sophie and just about the same as Abbey (proportionally).

But it was a beautiful dance, very cleverly choreographed by Kevin, I looked more complex at first that it is on second viewing. Also as Alli mentions not many rotations, but it may have been to reduce motion sickness in Susanna, which again is clever choreo. I think the choreography deserved those marks but not Susanna's dancing.

Full disclosure: I am developing a huge crush on Kevin ( don't think is ever going to reach my Artem crush though) but I still can't quite warm to Susanna even though she was born not even a mile from where I live.

There seems to have been a lot of over marking going on tonight.

Well, they set the bar all wrong at the start by over-marking Abbey. Sophie was better than Abbey, then Susanna was better than Sophie. By rights, on that marking, Natalie should have got at least one 10.
I don't think her VW was worth a 9, but on the night it didn't make any difference to the placings.

I agree, I thought it was beautiful to watch.

Both of these ^^

Where they end up on the leader board is what matters not what the scores are.

I thought she lacked charisma and grace. Much as love her on Breakfast, I just don't enjoy watching her dance. I think Deborah is better than Susanna

I thought it was good, but her score (like other couples as well) didn't seem right. But it's all personal opinion, so some might have thought it spot on. But just 8s would have been better, imo, and even the odd 7 wouldn't have upset me.

I can't take to her either ...there is (for me) something very false about her.

I know nothing about dance but her head looked wrong. KFG needs to do something about that.

I cant take to her. It wasn't too subtle of the BBC getting her to interview Craig either.
