And I mean that in the sense of being able to belt ballads out.

She was perfection but possibly a bit too 'tonight matthew i'm gonna be celine dion'

She was great but she's too dated. They (the producers) wouldnt want her to win.

Didn't really have my eye on anyone coming into the live shows. Possibly Abi but I didn't think there would be enough this year to keep me interested.

Jennifer Rush's version of this song is stunning and is one of my all time faves. Sam grabbed hold, took a deep breath, exercised impeccable control and knocked this song out in a way that will now keep me watching until she is voted off.

probably the only time I'll ever post in these forums but just wanted to say that I agree that she definitely has the best voice of all the contestants in this year's show. Unfortunately, though I have a feeling that we're in for a re-run of the year Rhydian was in it ie Sam will make the final but will lose out on the night to one of the less talented kids who will quickly fade into obscurity. Still Rhydian did alright in the end and I'm sure Sam will. I'll certainly be buying her first album.

I love her, but give it a few weeks and the judges and producers will be doing to her what they did to Tesco Mary. Just wait, they most certainly will not want her to win

If I'm honest I really dislike the song, and have since I first heard it, but I really enjoyed that performance. I got chills all over. I think it's going to be performance of the night unless Lorna pulls a brilliant performance off

You're right ,it was PERFECTION!, don't often hear that even among the really good singers, quite stunning

I vaguely remember Nicky Evans sing this, but didn't she go flat on the final note

Nikki did it just as good as Sam, IIRC. But, Nikki did it acapella at the start, and I loved that.
